Joe Kennedy III after winning the Massachusetts Senate race in 2020, runs for President in 2024 after Joe Biden's single term, and wins the nomination after consecutive wins in Iowa and New Hampshire.

He selects Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer as his running mate.

Nikki Haley wins the Republican nomination after the South Carolina Primary, and selects Wyoming Congresswoman Liz Cheney as her running mate.

Which ticket wins?

I'd say it depends on a lot of factors, the popularity of Biden, economy, any major scandals, etc. I'd like to hope JKIII wins though as he is one of my favorites.

A ticket with the name Kennedy is always going to beat a ticket with the name Cheney

That would be a layup fro Kennedy. The Repubs wouldn't do two women on their ticket. It won't be Haley or Cheney. Probably a "back to normal" Republican. Like the Republican Biden in other words.

Mitt Romney could even be the guy again. He has the "I never supported Trump" card up his sleeve.

Cheney is a very bad VP pick for Haley. Sir Kennedy III would win, a poisoned chalice for Democrats.

2026 will be akin to 2010 and 14, and 2028 will be the best R environment since at least 2016.

Even if she were a good VP pick, the history of Cheneys and the vice presidency would create a needless electoral hazard for any Republican nominee. It won't happen unless the base calls for it after deciding they liked Bush/Cheney after all because wars make the libs mad.
