I personally would love him even more, but he would be doomed to lose reelection barring some larger event obscuring the bill.

Joe would alienate a whole league of progressives and would probably not have the support to win a second term, whether he bows out or runs and loses is uncertain.

I'm grudgingly voting for Biden this year.

If this happened I would not cast a vote for President in 2024. This would be a self-defeating move.

If President Biden were smart, he would say "My position has evolved and while I don't personally condone cannabis use, it no longer makes sense to keep it illegal and allow cartels to continue making money that could be taxed and help rebuild our infrastructure. This is about damage control and limiting the power of illicit enterprises, not encouraging use."
