As the title says, this is a hypothetical scenario of the 2021 New York City Mayoral Race, in the Democratic Primary.

Alexandra Ocasio Cortez and Andrew Yang are the only two candidates running.

Who wins the primary (no maps, please.)?

Probably Yang. AOC is only won her congressional primary because of low turnout.

Almost definitely Yang. I also don't think AOC would run. But even if she did, Yang would beat her in the primary.

AOC has decent and improving political instincts, she'd never run. But if she did she'd win and drive her political career off a cliff as Mayor.

Yang would win by a tight margin. This matchup likely wouldn't happen as AOC would not run for Mayor. Next, she'll probably stay in the senate for a few years and then run for Senate.
