With the approval numbers of governors going up all over the country, I wouldn’t be surprised if not a single gubernatorial seat switched parties this year.

You should have (at the very least) added a Tossup option here.

This

I'm convinced every single incumbent governor running for re-election this year will win reelection.

And obviously Utah is Safe R.

The only state where there's a serious chance of it flipping this year is Montana, and that's an open election.

On the other hand I expect quite a few seat to flip in the Senate this year (absolute minimum 4 imo).

When's the last time every incumbent governor who ran that cycle won?

Who is gonna beat Jim Justice? Manchin was the only one with a chance, and he’s not running. Even he’d be an underdog with Trump on the ballot.

As it is, safe R.

Likely R out of caution, but if Justice’s approval stays higher than it was before, then it’ll probably be Safe R.

Unless I'm mistaken, no incumbent governor has lost in the election years of 2012 and 2008, nor in the off-years of 2017, 2015, 2011, 2005 and 2001.

Any incumbent governor is safe for 2020 and many in 2022 have received. But for the nations sake I hope the coronavirus is not in the news daily for the 2022 midterms.

I actually voted Likely R out of an abundance of caution because I've seen figures before suggesting Justice is not very popular. I was also completely wrong about the governor race in 2016 (predicting Cole) and wrong about Kentucky in 2019 for a similar reason. I don't know if that's true anymore, but even if it isn't I think Safe R might be a little too bold right now.

Justice is the same crook that he was when he got elected (like the other coal barons left) and WV is going nowhere but down, but can't imagine the WV voter willing to try something different.
