I formed a very distinct and idiosyncratic impression of Sanchez--a massive HP, but our massive HP, and My Kind of person on some pre-political and even pre-moral level--almost a decade ago and haven't found any reason to revise it so far.

I remember wee Nathan as a New England lefties who wrote an impressive, of completely off the rails, timeline about Margaret Chase Smith. Very stellar work, but I knew not else of him. Since that time I have come to respect him as one of the forum’s greater minds and in essence as perhaps the closest thing to it conscience. Also, his mastery of obscure pop culture is an important asset in the race to be unique and interesting.
