Hogan 2024 and Shua carrying water for this nonsense is unsurprising and cements their status as some of this forum's worst posters.

All of the spikes in cases we've seen here in the city recently have been in heavily Hasidic areas. None of them wear masks. It's not about religion whatsoever, it's about putting the rest of NYC at risk at this critical time.

Conservadems and right-wingers will grasp at any straw to cry wolf and accuse their opponents of anti-Semitism to try and shut them down. Then they're surprised when actual anti-Semites rise to power thanks to their relentless and nonsensical bashing of anyone who thinks poor people deserve healthcare.

Look at this response by a proper leader addressing Covid spread in a marginalized community without stigmatizing them.

https://www.nydailynews.com/coronavirus/ny-coronavirus-cuomo-schools-testing-20200929-n36cmscdxzaplkwkp3vlms3zqe-story.html

It's a very good statement, but it doesn't go quite far enough. The only way to get the trust of the community and show that he's taking their safety and their concerns seriously is by using his powers to remove De Blasio. The community can't be expected to answer to him after his repulsive actions in April and beyond. Cuomo should take charge of controlling this outbreak personally after ensuring that the Jewish community never has to be threatened by this tin-pot dictator.

"marginalized community"

.... You... don't think Jewish people are a marginalized group...?

In Hungary? Yeah. Not in America.

This is absolutely not true at all.

https://www.adl.org/news/press-releases/antisemitic-incidents-hit-all-time-high-in-2019

Yeah, the ADL totally doesn't have an agenda to push. Antisemitic incidents are at an all time high every year according to them, have to scare those nice old grandmas in Palm Beach out of another hundred bucks.

There's certainly been a rise in anti-Semitic hate crimes to some degree. However, it has everything to do with the alt-right's obsession with George Soros and other conspiracy theories about "coastal elites" etc. For instance, the Tree of Life shooting was inspired directly by the migrant caravan nonsense that the Republicans cooked up to save their senate majority in 2018. If Hogan 2024 would focus on that instead of flailing and attacking people with no credible basis because they oppose his economic views, we might actually get somewhere.

You know, I do think it’s a little dishonest to call Jews a marginalized or underrepresented group in the same way ethnic minorities are. Jews have done very, very well in America compared to virtually any country on earth. American Jews have been more free and more accepted here than they have anywhere else until pretty recently in history. There’s a reason religious minorities have fled here for centuries.

A few years ago the ADL said there'd been an 80% annual increase in antisemitic hate crimes. Turns out all of this was because of some crazy Israeli kid calling in bomb threats to countless Jewish community centers, in order to scare people into immigrating to Israel. The ADL would cease to exist if antisemitism in America were accurately reported. As a Jewish man I am no more at risk in the United States than an Italian or Irish man.

If the NAACP reported every time a black person was called a slur on the road by some random racist, their database would be 100 times bigger than the ADL's. But black, latino and Muslim Americans aren't privileged enough to have an organization like the ADL that takes note of every single time they feel slighted, they're too busy trying to duck crooked cops and ICE. Jewish people do not have to worry about the state coming for our basic humanity. The aforementioned groups do.

Don't you instead have about 20 concern troll posts to make about Biden inevitably losing?

Seriously Horus, quit while you're behind in the anti-semitic Olympics. Settle for the bronze and call it a day.

Edit: I just read your subsequent posts. Yikes! You easily advanced to the silver. Quit before you "win" the gold.

I feel personally safe in America as a secular Jew, but Jewish institutions (synagogues, clergy homes) and Hasidic individuals are under regular threat of violence, arson, and property crimes. It's not as bad as in Europe where you need round-the-clock security at museums and synagogues, but it's bad in a way my own lived experience and yours, Horus, doesn't reflect.

And I grew up in a town where our public high school was chalked up with swastikas and KKK because we had a large Jewish minority and were surrounded by towns without one. And our temple was chalked up, and when I was in high school marching band we were told to go to the bathroom and concession stands in groups at away games because people from other towns would attack us.

Good thing there's no dangerous precedent here at all. Cuomo needs to remove him ASAP.

In case anyone was wondering, Jewish business owners following the law are still being extrajudicially targeted by the authorities of De Blasio's New York City.

https://www.amny.com/news/orthodox-jewish-reporter-assaulted-during-second-night-of-anti-lockdown-protests-in-brooklyn/

Hasidic reporter Jacob Kornbluh was brutally attacked and called a Nazi and Hitler by other Hasidic men due to alerting police when synagogues and shuls were violating social distancing orders.

Thousands of masks were also burned.

"My message to [certain segments of] the Jewish community, and all communities, is this simple: the time for warnings has passed. I have instructed the NYPD to proceed immediately to summons or even arrest those who gather in large groups. This is about stopping this disease and saving lives. Period.

Would the above insertion of words make everyone happy?  When I looked at the hot spot map, as far as I could tell, each and every one of the hoods had a substantial percentage of orthodox Jews living in it. So it appears that the singling out is data based.

Bad! If only De Blasio cared when Jews around the city were attacked by non-Jews for months before this, but I guess none of them had a Wikipedia entry.

It would certainly have made it less egregious, given that his initial wording lumped mainstream conservative/reform/Modern orthodox Jews in the Upper West Side in with Hasidim, but the bigger problem is that he approved that funeral, used it to spread rage against the Jewish community, and then followed that up with months of targeted extralegal harassment.

It's nonsense, and Hogan knows it's nonsense.

There's just a certain segment of New Yorkers and NYC-adjacent who long for the days of Giuliani and Bloomberg, hate any progressive economic views, and won't be happy until the average rent is $5,000 and the only people that can live here are Connecticut millionaires' bratty kids. Or millionaires' kids from Russia/East Asia/Gulf States. Of course, Hogan lives in New Jersey, so he wouldn't know.

They're using this "scandal" as an excuse to attack De Blasio and by extension any other NYC politicos on the left .
