He really is an idiot for this tweet, I don't see malice but just stupidity and perhaps frustration. There probably was a need to specifically call out from what I heard was Hasidic Stupidity but why did he have to say it this way?

My message to the Jewish community, and all communities, is this simple: the time for warnings has passed. I have instructed the NYPD to proceed immediately to summons or even arrest those who gather in large groups. This is about stopping this disease and saving lives. Period.

Yeah, given his city has already had thousands of deaths I'll be charitable and say he is tired and frustrated. But the tweet was worded wrongly, and probably should have just been worded generally to make clear that all communities have to abide by social distancing.

I'm not a huge a fan of DeBlasio, but I don't think this is antisemitic. He's not wrong to criticize behavior of certain groups in a time like his. We can talk about the measures he's undertaking or not undertaking, that's another story.

I know that the Hasidic, Haredi community has many sects disregarding the rules. I know that because about half of Israel's Coronavirus pandemic is them. But de Blasio here is addressing the entire Jewish community and, while I know he's not an anti-semite, he's definitely doing their job for them.

Even calling out the haredi sect is pretty eh tbh, I think theres a few sects within. However a much better way than antagnozing them and risking possible anger, is to work more with sect leaders
