Election results from 2016 & 2019 indicate that this particular Native American tribe appears to have swung away from Democrats into the Republican column. Based on what I can gather, it seems that their social conservatism is a key reason for this group’s Republicanization. Does anyone think this demographic group will eventually vote like Deep South whites?

The problem with crediting 2016 movement to Richard Burr is that both Donald Trump and Pat McCrory did even better than Richard Burr did among the lumbee.
