If you have anything other than a hunting gun, you should need a license for it. Weapons designed fir military mass killing should be illegal or alternatively require extremely strict licensing that makes it quite hard to get and keep.

Yes, but I'm Canadian, so I'm not "a Dem" and my opinion is a pretty popular one up here. American gun laws are beyond insane, but y'all are living in that bubble so it's normalized in that culture.

I mean, as far as assault weapons go, yes. These weapons have no place in civilian life and no civilian has an inherent "right" to own one.
