DeLeon appears to be the most obvious one.

I first thought this needs to be 2021, but LA has moved the election date which is why Garcetti serves an extended 2nd term.

It's the first LA Mayoral races in 82 years not held in an odd year, where turnout has been constantly below 25% in recent elections.

Bold prediction: Voters aren't aware of this change and habitually overlook this race on their ballots. Only 15% of voters vote for Mayor

My instinct is Ridley-Thomas, but it's way too early to tell.

Kevin de Leon is f***ed. He’s more popular in the heavily white liberal North Coast (which he won in 2018) than he is in Los Angeles.

Wild card: Rick Caruso pulls a Meg Whitman (still loses).

Does de Leon have a better chance of replacing Garcettib than Barbara Bry does of replacing Faulconer?

De Leon could win if he runs for CA-29 instead.

Is this an LA Mayoral thread or A Kevin de Leon thread? Cause I almost feel both of your threads should be merged into a 'de Leon Megathread'.

Or a 'de Leon & 2018 CA-Senate Megathread', since all your assumptions/questions are based on that race
