They both vote similarly. Historically, MO has been more Democratic than IN. Which state today is less GOP?

This comes up every other week.

But for President: Indiana probably.

For Senate/Governor/random statewide office: Missouri.

Indiana Chicago suburbs are more loyal to Democrats than exurbs of St. Louis and Kansas City and Hamilton County seems to be trending a little Democratic federally. So in a massive landslide Indiana may go Democratic first.

But Missouri Democrats may end up having a local advantage over Indiana Democrats in that they have more suburban and exurban terrtory they can compete in so if they start to win seats in St Charles or Greene County more often they will already had experience campaigning in and winning an unfavorable electorate.

Indiana. Missouri is practically West Virginia now.

Missouri bro has spoken

But, in all seriousness, probably Indiana. The Rust Belt is more prone to swinging back and forth.

The one that has voted Democratic for president this century. (Neither will in 2020, of course.)

I don’t know about that. Pence barely won the 2012 gubernatorial race with a plurality, and Holcomb barely got a majority. Both in years the GOP easily won the presidential race in the state.

Why even ask this question?
