A long post got deleted, but to make a long story short:

-A bill is finally being debated in the South, so I have every confidence we will have the first election set in late June. It will involve Washington, Arizona, Colorado, Rhode Island, Illinois, New Hampshire, Alabama, Virginia and Maryland, plus Mayor of NYC.

-Regional parties will be allowed to stand. National parties are assumed to be standing unless otherwise directed (X Party informs me they're not standing in Y State). Regional parties will require the concerned player to inform me they're standing so they can campaign. Thus we balance the limited registration in regional parties thus far while enabling them to take part on the experiment.

-Working a "rules" post to set clear guidelines, hope to have it up soon.

Boundaries to be revised every 10th year. Closed party list STV with a 5% threshold. Fremont has the voting age at 16, and alll elections will be conducted via mail after July 2022.

Very well made, my only gripe is that now Nebraska doesn't have it's unicameral™. Other than that minor thing, this is outstanding!

Thanks! The Local Reorganization Act does mandate the states to have bicameral legislatures, so it would have to be amended for Nebraska to be able to return to unicameralism.

My first thought is it should be amended.

Exciting, definitely gets rid of the popularity contest that most politics are these days and gives parties something to be excited about even if they didn't technically drive it Smiley

(Maybe it means policy positions actually matter too?)

Right! A few important points:

1.- Regional Legislation has finally passed. The South passed the Southern State and Local Electoral Calendar Act back in late June and it was signed into law, so all three regions passed the legislation that was required to avoid me having to take unilateral decisions. My sincere thanks to the regional legislators!

2.- Rules will be up before Sunday. I need to make a few adjustments and ensure the set of rules isn't too bloated or overcomplicated, it will be up with an election thread of its own.

3.- July will have the first NPC elections. Both Fremont and the South have scheduled elections "on the ultimate Saturday of the month" (I'll have Lincoln follow this rule unofficially unless otherwise directed), which means the first set of states will be up for election on Saturday 25th, 2020. Campaign will ideally start on Monday, giving people three weeks to prepare and fight the election.

I'll give more details under the rules are up in the appropiate new thread, but this finally has a legal greenlight.

_____

Up for election:
State: Colorado / Washington / Arizona / Virginia / Maryland / Alabama / Rhode Island / Illinois / New Hampshire
Mayor: New York City

Will it be possible for a national and regional party to run a joint campaign?

Thanks!

Will it be possible for a national and regional party to run a joint campaign?

I suppose, so long as I have confirmation from both Chairmen or leaders.

Until further notice, the Liberal Party of Atlasia participates in all local elections in the July cycle.
