Why couldn't they have Fateen Mulla, the Arab "represent arabs".
I'm pretty sure he's Druze, and quite thick. After the train-wreck of Ayoub Kara they're extra cautious with those petty Druze politicos.

I assume Gantz will appoint one later on, appointing one now might just land in a spin problem in 2 months with the annexation debacle

MK Avi Dichter and Minister Tzachi Hanegbi are rebelling because they won't get ministries and will not arrive to the government swearing-in. We still have no inkling who the hell will get Education.

Confidence vote postponed to Sunday. Not sure how much of it is genuine Likud pressure and how much of it is a tactic by Bibi to squeeze more out of Gantz. Anyhow this doesn't look good for Likud as their base is suffering economically they are all busy with minister posts and respect.

I mean it's been clear as day Likud MKs really don't give a sh*t about anyone else but themselves for a while now. I don't see why this would change their voters minds.

Regev will be the Transportation Minister and will become Foreign Minister after the 1.5 years pass (lmaooo I'd love it). Meanwhile, Bibi continuing with the tradition of appointing the dumbest person he can find in the whole country for the Coalition Chairman, and chose Miki Zohar (who'll also become a Minister after 1.5 years). Others who served in this prestigious role are Dudi Amsalem and David Bitan.

Yoav Gallant- retired General, formerly Construction Minister as part of Kulanu. Defected to Likud and is currently (as I learned from Wikipedia because he's doing literally nothing related to the office) the Immigration Minister. Was almost appointed Chief of the IDF but wasn't because he illegally seized public land. Great example for the kids

Sorry, this might just be me on 24+ hours of no sleep, but what's the news regarding him? To me (& again, this might just be my lack of sleep talking), this just reads like a TL;DR biography of the guy.

Well this government is bloated beyond recognition, now I am not a populist and I don't mind a tad bigger government for stability, also ministers without portfolios can actually be very useful like Israel Galili back in the days. But this is beyond ridiculous and the government agencies can't work like this.

Also the security cabinet (think COBRA if you're a Brit consisted of 7-8 members now consist a total of 15 members! can't see it running smoothly

The Israeli 35th Government:

as it's a duumiverate the government is split into 2 blocs

Likud Bloc:
PM - Herr Netanyahu
Finance - Israel Katz
Home Office - Deri'i (Shas)
Education - Galant
Interior Security - Ohana
Transportation - Regev
Health - Edelstein
Housing - Litzman (UTJ)
Environmental Protection - Gamliel
Energy - Steinitz
Higher Education and Water Resources - Elkin (not sure what this means yet)
Community Enhancement - Orly Levy (Gesher Judas)
Religious Services - Avitan (Shas)
Jerusalem - Rafi Peretz (Jewish Home)
Linking the Government and the House - Amsalem (basically has control of some government agencies and nothing to do with the title)
Intelligence Services - Eli Cohen (empty office)
International Cooperation - Akunis (after Ardan sods off to the US)
Settlement - Hotovli

Gantz Block
Alternate PM and Defence - Gantz
Foreign Office - Ashkenazi
Justice - Nissenkorn
Economy - Peretz (Labour)
Welfare - Shmoli (Labour)
Communication - Hendel (Derech Eretz)
Culture and Sport - Trooper
Strategic Affairs - Farkash Cohen
Agriculture - Shooster
Immigration - Tamano Shato
Social Equality - Merav Cohen
Diaspora - Yankelevetic
Tourism - Zamir
Science - Shai
Under-Minister in Defence for civil matters - Bitton

Speaker of the House - Yariv Levin
Coalition Whip - Zohar

Notable outs: Hanegbi, Dichter, Barkat (the last 2 are massive turds so good). I think some resentment within the backbenches will grow

As I said the worst of all worlds, Hawkish and economic populism

With 73 for and 46 against and after a year of interim government we have a new government. Let's remind everyone that Gantz was sworn in today with Bibi, meaning the rotation would be automatic. But there would be ways to still topple the government.

Former Health Minister Litzman on Coronavirus: "from the start I was saying that nothing will happen and it's nothing, but Netanyahu chose to buy the panic of the Ministry's Director". Thank god that Moshe Bar Siman Tov (Health Ministry Director) and Netanyahu reacted appropriately.

I think the Haredim truly did themselves no favour in the past months: their main representative was an absentee health minister who did nothing except try to loose restrictions on religious facilities, and by their refusal to comply with the restrictions until it was too late they contributed to more thab half of our epidemic.

I'm sure now that Litzman will only work for Haredim as Construction Minister and the rest will get nothing. Oh, except the very privileged settlers who got their own ministry. I'm also deeply suspicious of any other Haredi party politician. Before the epidemic I tried to check myself and prevent the resentment and division against Haredim that people like Lieberman are promoting from taking over me, but this is the last straw. I really think that the Haredim need to reform deeply before most Israelis can ever trust them.

On the slow death of free press under Netanyahu:
Channel 13, arguably the second biggest and most popular news channel in TV, is controlled by a media baron who's also the CEO of a cement company that is likely going to get a little favour from Netanyahu- a tax raise on imported cement. Anyway, Netanyahu has long been trying and succeeding to infiltrate this channel and install more and more of his mindless puppets there. Apparently, Channel 13 has now made a decision that I think leaps over all the red lines I saw before- they won't allow any of the serious journalists from the news company to cover the Netanyahu trial, but rather let former MK Sharon Gal (used to be YB, generic right wing hack now) to lead the coverage. Soviet level propaganda.

I think of myself as fairly knowledgeable about Israeli politics and I only recognize 12-13 of these. Would someone maybe list them?

I find it all in accurate. BG is more Authoritarian for the sake of authority than on the left. his spot should be taken By Gilon, and his spot in turn should be taken by Zandberg. and so on. Avneri on the top left corner? weird

Anyhow, Q1: Smotric, Peretz, Kahane, Saar, Begin, Bibi, Gantz, Liberman, Shaked. Q2: Uri Avneri, Bshara, Yair Stern, Aymen Odeh, BG, Deri'i, Gilon, Golda, Barak. Q3: Oron, Rabin, Livni, Aloni, Zandberg, Shaffir, Oren Leibovic of Green Lead Party, Galon, Golan. Q4: Lapid, Boogie, Hendel, Levy, Kachlon, Haskel, that weirdo from the pirate party, Gilad Alper, Feiglin
