The election of 2020 has been shaping up to be as chaotic, or even more chaotic, than the previous presidential election. The Coronavirus dominated the United States and the world up until mid June, Trump's chaotic presidency only grew more unpredictable as election day loomed, and Vice President Biden had to unite a divided party. Throughout the campaign, however, Vice President Biden would maintain a consistent lead over President Trump.
Despite speculation from the media, the president did not drop Vice President Mike Pence from the ticket and kept him as his running mate, while Vice President Joe Biden selected Illinois Senator and combat veteran Tammy Duckworth. Following the Democratic National Convention, she became the first Asian-American and the first disabled person to be nominated for Vice President by a major political party.
The three presidential debates went as expected: uncontrolled. Trump seemed to pull off a win in the first debate against Biden, but Biden came back swinging in the second town hall-styled debate, with the president becoming speechless at one point. The third debate was a narrow victory for Biden, however it was clear Trump would stop at nothing to attack his opponent.
Tonight's the big night. Biden/Duckworth has a lead over Trump/Pence, but will Trump pull off another upset, or be relegated to Mar-a-Lago?
