the Last King of Scotland

Great movie, Forrest Whittaker also did a terrific job playing Idi Amin.

Zodiac: a bit long, but still a good movie and very entertaining if you like that sort of movie (though the previews at the theater were all for scary movies and scared the Roll Eyes out of me).

A Few Good Men: Incredably good movie Cheesy

Babal: horrible is an understament I have no clue what on earth the appeal was in this film Angry .

Last Film: Sweeney Todd: the Demon Barber of Fleet Street

One of my favorite films and probably the best film of 2007.  Depp definitely should have gotten Best Actor and the film probably should have gotten best picture, makeup, and costume design.

Last New Film: Wall-E

Easily Pixar's best, very good for an animated film.  I think pretty much anyone would enjoy this film.  On an unrelated note, I think I remember reading that either Glenn Beck or Rush Limbaugh went on an angry tirade against the film.

While I greatly enjoyed SWEENEY TODD and it is one of my favorite films, I think the best film of 2007 was THERE WILL BE BLOOD and Daniel Day Lewis rightfully won Best Actor.

To each his own.  My only real issue with There Will Be Blood was that it felt like it ended without actually having an ending, if that makes any sense.

Dracula (the origenal version)
It was okay, very entertaining, but not as good as I expected it to be.

The Pianist
Very good movie, Adrian Brody's acting was especially good!

This was one of the best films I've seen in my life.

Milk - Very good movie, phenominal acting by Sean Penn.  My only complaints are that the film makes no mention of Milk's ties to Jim Jones and misrepresents an inccident in which Milk basicly stabbed Dan White in the back in an important vote.  Milk is a very powerful (if occasionally misleading) film and I'd highly recommend it.

Seven Pounds - Terrible movie, not sure why Will Smith took the part, I actually walked out the theatre.  Its a shame because it had a very promising  and creative concept.

The People vs Larry Flynt - Good movie, but not anything amazing.  Harrelson's acting is really good.  Like Milk it lionizes its subject at the expense of historical accuracy, only more so.

Jesus Camp

This surprisingly evenhanded documentary examines what American Evangelicals actually believe and how children are indoctrinated with Evangelical religious and political views.  I found it very scary in a number of ways, although the part with Haggard was hilarious in hindsight.  Highly recommended (although I suspect non-Evangelical Americans will find it the most interesting).

Shutter Island

Just saw it. A fantastic movie. It's not a typical "ah something popped out at me" horror film. Truly, very well done.

The Game Plan

Yeah, I know it's been out for a while, but I don't really watch a lot of movies.

I think I might want to see the new Sherlock Holmes movie, though.

I thought Sherlock Holmes was very good, much better than I thought it would be.  It was very entertaining!

Death at a Funeral

I went in expecting it to be at best mildly funny (I only saw it because I had absolutely nothing to do and the trailer was funny).  However, it ended up being one of the funniest movies I have seen (in theaters) in a long time.  Danny Glover was very funny in his scenes with Tracy Morgan (who had one of the funniest characters in the film).  The "Valium" segments were also very funny.  However, the midget storyline was easily the best part of the film.  Despite being someone who usually avoids anything with Chris Rock in it, I must admit he does a good job despite having one of the more restrained/stright-man roles.  Although I went in expecting to be only mildly amused, I loved it.  I highly recommend it.

The Dirty Dozen

Mildly entertaining, John Cassevetes was very good in it, nothing great though (how it inspired a movie as awsome as Inglourious Basterds will remain a mystery to me).

The Social Network

It was one of the best movies of the decade, it also reminded me a lot of Citizen Kane.  I can't wait to see it again.

Zodiac: Good movie, depressing, but very good

Henry V: Disappointing overall, however the "band of brothers" speech scene and Branagh's performance were excellent.

Sleepers - After a solid (albeit clearly fictionalized) first half, it descends into unwatchable nonsense.
