Itīs great, isnīt it ?
Did the american version have subtitles or was it in english ?
Itīs just bad it didnīt get an oscar 2006 for best foreign movie.
the actors, especially julia jentsch were playing shockingly realistic.
Speaking of Julia Jentsch... you really should go and dig out Die Fetten Jahre Sind Vorbei (Stupid english title: The Edukators)

Citizen Kane

What can I say? An absolute classic.

Agreed, watched it the other day.

Last film at moment was The Godfather, good but I wouldn't put it in my top ten I reckon.

Been a while since I saw it, but Citizen Kane still stands out as a classic. Smiley

I trust you both know that it is based on Hearst quite a lot

Just watched "Real Fiction" by Kim Ki-Duk. Very good film. A revenge fantasy is just what I needed after such a sh**tty day.

I saw Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby yesterday. It was really great. Humor was similar to Anchorman, but unique enough to be its own film. Definetly one to see.

"Timeline" and the 2003 version of "20,000 Leagues Under the Sea"

It was a Sci-Fi channel night for me.  Tongue

I saw that on ABC a handful of days ago.  Although my latest movie was "Big Momma's House".

V for Vendetta. Easily the best movie, so far, of 2006.

Watched that one and 40 Year Old Virgin last night. I was impressed, but Inside Man is still the best non-animated movie of 2006.

I've yet to see Inside Man. Although the cast looks impressive.

1992 was a great year for movies and I just recently re-watched two movies I haven't seen in a while from that year: Scent of a Woman and Shining Through.

I saw Scent of a Woman when it first came out and haven't really seen it since and I was blown away. Great adult drama / character study. Just simply riveting. Pacino's speech at the end burned a hole in the screen of the TV, I think. Better make sure it works!

Shining Through stars Melanie Griffith and Michael Douglas; probably not many have heard of it. Heavily stylized noir-like WW II drama. Might not be bad for a date movie if slow-paced and serious are okay. Great film. Smiley Tense ending.

Of course, he tried to pay the studio not to broadcast it. I've been to Hearst Castle, crazy place but I wouldn't mind living there.

I saw Harold and Kumar go to White Castle the other day.  Seemed-not as funny as the first time though.  Think it's a characteristic of stoner humor.

The Matador
A reasonable effort. Pierce Brosnan was good.

Notorious. A great classic Hitchcock espionage film. Great performances from the three leads; Grant, Bergman and Raines. Some say that Grant's Devilin was Fleming's blueprint for James Bond and I could definitely see it.

I saw "Little Miss Sunshine" last night and it was definitely the best movie of 2006 I've seen so far. Great black humor, and the facial expressions/clashing of ideals between Greg Kinnear, who plays a struggling motivational speaker, and Steve Carrell, the gay Proust Scholar who tried to kill himself, is fantastic.

A very enjoyable movie, with just the right amount of great comedy/drama, both of which envoke laughter and sympathy.

Miami Vice

Nice action movie, even acted decently at parts (especially the Chinese chick).

Eh? Saw that recently, but definitely not true.

And James, live there? That's a scary thing to consider...

I'd like to see Little Miss Sunshine, but it won't come to Sweden in a long time I suspect... Tongue
