That was the beginning of the end for Tim Burton IMO.

Didn't that worthless c**nt Martin Amis have a role in the writing of that?

Re-watched C'est arrivé près de chez vous/Man Bites Dog

The main character had more funny lines than I remembered, though some scenes didn't work as well as I remembered either. On the whole still a pretty strong movie, and a good piece of evidence that Walloon cinema doesn't have to be in the hyper-realist Dardenne-mold to be relevant.

The Thin Red Line

I don't know if it's the best war movie ever made but it's probably the prettiest one ever made. Seriously, the cinematography is outrageous.

Terrence Malick's only watchable film.  Probably because it was edited down to 3 hours from it's likely 8 hour Malick director's cut run time.

Source Code. So-so. Seemed to have enormous plot-holes or maybe I just didn't get it. The twists were way too predictable though. A twist movie has to do better.

I saw the Idiot Brother thing tonight.  Appealing cast.  Fluff picture.  Fun time if in fun mood. Go see it if that's what you want.

I saw the last Rambo movie over the weekend on TV (it was probably cut)...and I liked it, esp the ending.  Glad to finally see Rambo at peace and loving Christ.

Did it feature that scene? Cheesy

Five Centimeters Per Second - absolutely touching and brilliant, one of the best anime films I have seen.

I can understand not liking the argument, but surely you'd accept that it's very well put together?

I actually didn't find it that well organized.  It just sort of jumped all over the place; I couldn't particularly follow why he was putting things where he was.

I don't remember B4C well.  Is that the one with the History of the USA cartoon?

I've rarely heard Moore's films criticized on a technical level, although Capitalism: A Love Story was a bit disorganized.

For me a documentary that gives me obviously stupid arguments isn't very impressive.

Last night I watched How I won the war.   I don't know if it was the excess alcohol, the winds howling outside, or the incomprehensible dialogue but I was confused.

Super 8

The first half with the mystery was much better. The "middle schoolers in Cloverfield" second half didn't really work that well. Definitely a well done film though.

I just realized that being set in a small town in Ohio in the 80s means that this is Naso's wet dream movie.

Page Eight, a piece of smug bourgeois excrement written-and-directed by pompous hack 'playwright' David Hare for television and shown... a few hours ago. Technically it's a film, but I think I'd find an excuse to complain about it even if it wasn't.

It is quite possibly the worst thing I've seen on television all year. Appalling.

Some Czech horror movie called 'Darkness', currently available on netflix streaming.  Decent, but I enjoyed the glimpse into small-town Czech life more than the movie itself.

If you like feeling good and being a generic granola left-winger, you will love this movie.

Well, there you go - I seldom watch and even more rarely enjoy documentaries. Tongue

I did like Videocracy. I guess the subject matter there was so stupid that it'd be impossible for the movie to look stupid by comparison.

Shawshank Redemption. Cute movie, although the ending was a bit disappointing - I was hoping it would turn out he actually did it, since that would have been more interesting. I liked the whole escape thing, but beyond that it seemed like a poor man's Forrest Gump.
