I had no idea the Squid and the Whale was set in the 1980s until I looked it up on Wikipedia after watching it, though it makes sense in retrospect. Good film though.

Yeah, I don't even remember the title card that BRTD speaks of. Maybe I was grabbing something to eat at the time or whatever.

Toy Story 3.

Indeed one of the best third in a trilogies ever. Ending actually made me even more sad just because I'm looking at getting a new car and thus abandoning my old one, now it can make you feel sad for inanimate objects!

It seems kind of weird to get kids Lotso Huggin Bear toys with his role in the movie, though those are clearly being sold.

The Green Hornet

I went to the midnight showing because my dad really wanted to see it. It was alright, I guess. It actually did a somewhat decent job of paying tribute to the original radio and TV shows. It also had some funny bits and a few interesting ideas but it also contained a lot of pointless garbage. It was way too long and the 3D, as usual, sucked.

The Fighter

I was originally going to see The Green Hornet, but changed my mind while in line.  I'm glad I did.  Boxing movies are getting old, but this one is great.

How was the dude from Inglourious Basterds? I'm sure he was nowhere near as impressive of course since it wasn't as good as a script or well-written character but I am interested in seeing him again.

The fact that Nicholas Cage turned down the role because he thought it wasn't well-written should say something.

Wait, Nicholas Cage turns down roles? Based on his resume he appears to be one of those actors who will start in literally any role that is offered.

Exactly.  It has to be pretty bad if Cage says no.  He left after Kevin Smith quit as director and Michel Gondry overruled all the changes Cage wanted to make.  That's right, Kevin Smith.

This movie wasn't good enough for Kevin Smith and Nicholas Cage.

He was alright. It was an extremely one-dimensional character though.

Frozen, which had some scenes I had to look away from. Not a bad movie, but ugh.

I have to wonder if you'd have to look away watching that one then.

Just looking at the description on wikipedia tells me that I would not be watching it, period.

It's basically like a bad porno for 90% of it.

Annie Hall

While Star Wars was the better movie, Allen's career deserved his only award for Best Directing more than Lucas.  Both forgot what a good movie was after the 80s ended so it's kinda even.

Disgrace (2008).

A good Australian film about a white South African professor who has questionable sexual relations with a coloured girl. He's found out and fired from his job and moves to his lesbian daughter's farm in the remote countryside when the farm comes under attack by vagabonds.

That's not the best description though. It's mostly an allegory about South Africa.

Winter's Bone

A weird movie about hillbillies (as in the kind you see in purple shirts with wolves on them at carnivals). Pretty interesting.
