District 9 - I didn't think it was good.  The plot seemed jumpy, and was more concerned with non-stop violence than any real story.

Really? I thought it was a great concept. I can't really talk about it out loud because someone might want to see it though.

"Meet Joe Black"

Good movie, but killing Anthony Hopkins at the end is a crime Angry

Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist - Pretty good movie; Michael Cera is always good.

Don't worry. It'll be two months til they've shipped enough copies over here and dubbed four fifths of them. And they won't evne care that I'll presumably look for a not dubbed one.

In the Electric Mist, 2008 film with Tommy Lee Jones and John Goodman about a Louisiana Sheriff hunting a killer. Very good.

The River Wild, 1994 film with Meryl Streep as a mother on the whitewaters in the west rafting when her and her family are taken hostage by Kevin Bacon. Very good movie, saw it a few years back.

Colors, 1988 film with Sean Penn and Robert Duvall as two L.A.P.D. officers going up against the gangs in L.A. Classic cop movie, IMO.

The Super, 1991 comedy film about a landlord, Joe Pesci, who is sentenced to house arrest in his own terrible building. Hilarious...and the female lead in the film is absolutely stunning:

Gigantic

I thought it was pretty good actually, I don't know why it got such middling reviews. I guess people were kind of put off by how it felt kind of "pointless"? But I thought that was fairly realistic; there's not some grand dramatic arc, but instead just a group of unique people living their lives.

It's funny how everyone is talking about one thing and Naso another.

Starship Troopers: Marauder

It was nowhere near as bad as the second movie piece of crap, but far away from the original masterpiece. At least it retained the campiness and silly satire of the original (It might have played it a bit too much though, in this one you almost believe the humans are the villains), but didn't have as much action or gore and the plot was nowhere near as epic or interesting. I suppose you can blame that though on the original having around a $130 million budget adjusted for inflation and this having a $20 million.

That was one of the funnier lines in the movie. I do agree with your post a few pages back that Zach Galifianakis' character didn't really make any sense, though.

17 Again.

The movie sucks more than anything's ever sucked before.

But it did solidify my belief that Zac Efron is gorgeous  Shocked  and I don't care how gay that makes me.

Not for the first time (fourth, I think... but it's been years and years) but I saw Black Cat White Cat last night (outdoors, but on a big cinema screen) and pity anyone who has never seen it. My. favorite. comedy. ever.

And now I'll be off seeing inglorious basterds.

I have a wide taste. I just don't get off on "independent" and violent movies like you do I guess.

Just watched "Jennifer 8".

I loved the ending.  The rest of it was just fair.  But the end caught me by surprise and pleasantly so. Worth a look, even if you find the Andy Garcia-Lance Henriksen "buddy cop" story line a bit of a strain.

Beautful Thing. A great movie, maybe a little slow in some parts, but a great story with lots of emotion.

9/10

By the way, what's the worst movie you guys have ever seen, out of interest?

I'd say any movie by Friedberg & Seltzer, though arguably none of them count as I've never managed to sit through an entire movie by them.

David Cronenberg's "Crash". If you like weird, fucked up sex, and technology, this is your movie.

Inglorious Basterds

QT can't seem to make a bad movie (at least in my view). The dialogue and acting in the opening scene was particularly excellent. That said, the ending felt a little forced/rushed to me for some reason. It reminds of the issue I had with Reservoir Dogs.
