Adventureland.

Don't expect Superbad. This is more of a somewhat raunchy coming-of-age teen comedy, similar to the comedies of the era it is set in. But very funny and touching. Strongly recommended. And not just for the Replacements and Husker Du references. Kristen Stewart's character is basically the first ever 80s emo character I've ever seen in a movie.

I saw I Love You Man. It was much better than I expected.

The Replacements are also on the soundtrack, and at one point Kristen Stewart is listening to what I think is a Husker Du song in the car when she's driving.

Adventureland. Good fun. Jesse Eisenberg = Michael Cera

Kristen Stewart's character is basically the first ever 80s emo character I've ever seen in a movie.

would have been cool if she popped in a Moss Icon tape into her car's cassette deck

Adventureland.

I second BRTD. Definitely wasn't what I was excepting, not 2 hours of non-stop laughter (though there are some very, very hilarious scenes and most of the characters are very funny and well acted). Nonetheless, as a coming of age dramedy, I really liked it. Highly recommended.

You'd probably like the original one better. Have you seen it?

I'm gonna go get it from the library later. I plan to celebrate the Easter weekend/holiday/break with a classic horror/exploitation flick marathon of sorts.

The original is a big joke. The "acting" is downright laughable, the soundtrack is hilariously innapropiate, and the production values are so week it seems more silly than brutal. I'll probably see that remake sometime since it looks like it was actually done well.

Last I saw was The Golden Compass, which was so unrelated to religion it was quite hilarious anyone got upset about it. The only thing I could see being offensive on a religious level was the whole thing of having the soul exist outside the body as the animal spirit. The regime portrayed was a lot more like your typical 18th/early 19th century autocratic empire than a theocracy or anything. The movie though was a bit of a mess honestly. I'm sure the book is better, the movie just didn't have enough time to explain everything, it felt quite rushed really. Probably should've been at least an hour longer like the LotR films. The effects and CGI obviously were awesome, but there just wasn't enough time to make the story interesting.

Der Knochenmann

I've seen the first of the Brenner movies, and read all of the books. There was a second movie adaption in between that I missed completely.

They changed a LOT - more like cooked a stew out of most of the original plot ingredients, and some new ones - but at least they did that pretty well.

Oh yah, the final line of the credits was great. "We guarantee that no animals were injured, no animals or humans were killed and no humans were devoured during the making of this movie."

EDIT: Fixed link.

Paradise

Not very good, except for a fair amount of nudity from Phoebe Cates.

The Last House on the Left (original)

Hilarious. BRTD, I'm pretty sure it's supposed to be campy. The juxtaposition of light-heartedness with pretty brutal rape and killing and torture is the point.

Grindhouse: Planet Terror

I love this movie. Great "zombie" movie.

Observe and Report.

Not your typical Seth Rogen fare, but still very, very funny.

Observe and Report

Surprisingly dark. Maybe Rogen's best movie. My only major issue with it is that they went with a Hollywood ending which contained massive plot holes.

Barbarian Invasions. Quebecois movie. A parody of Quebec's healthcare system and Quebecois trade unions (or should I say mafia).

I take it you haven't heard about the Taxi Driver homage theory.

Believe it or not, Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason.  A friend of mine was having a movie night and I had no say in the movie selection.

Not as bad as I'd anticipated.  All right, I'll say it: I liked it.

I just killed my rep, didn't I?
