Dark Shadows. Weak Burton, but I was coaxed by others to go.

Has there ever been a strong Burton? (Can't stand him for the most part, much like Wes Anderson.)

The Burt? It's not generally my thing, but I do think Sweeney Todd and Edward Scissorhands, Nightmare Before Christmas are all good. I'm a bit biased by all girls I've been involved with having tended to like him. Tongue

Wes Anderson is uneven, but still brilliant at times.

This is technically rewatched rather than seen, but that was 20 years ago when it was showing in the cinemas, and I only remembered the general mood and a few scenes but not really the plot, so...

Unforgiven.

This is a top five favorite movie of mine. I watched it recently too.

Eyes without a Face (1959)

A very good example of a "classic" horror movie.

I saw Kick Ass (2010). These people are supposed to be heroes? They're murderers!

The Merchant of Four Seasons (1971)

Anyone agree with my mischievous suggestion that this film be made mandatory at places like Harvard Business School in lessons about work-life balance?

Les Diaboliques (1955)

See what I said above for Eyes without a face; the same applies (except Thriller instead of Horror). Though I have to say I shocked not to have seen that ending coming.

Goon

It was actually pretty funny.  Kind of like Slapshot meets Superbad meets Forrest Gump.

The Dictator (2012). I can handle a misogyny-themed comedy, but one extended rape joke in the middle of the movie really went beyond the pale, IMO.

I haven't seen the entire movie but I did catch the joke you were referring to and I found it totally awkward and unfunny.

Young Adult

I actually liked the protagonist, probably because she has some similarities to what a female version of me would be like. This movie was not typical Diablo Cody with crazy dialogue or whatever, but her characters and plots were similar, which worked pretty well. And of course you'll enjoy it far more if you're familiar with Minnesota (I kept wondering what town Mercury was a stand in for, probably somewhere like Fergus Falls.)

Oh and btw, no one ever calls here "Mini Apple". Knowing just how dated and out of touch that sounded is another example of what I said above.

Prometheus

I'm not someone who generally cares for 3D but it was simply incredible in this. Wow.

LOL, it wasn't what I thought it would be. I'm not exactly a fan of alien horror.

I've seen it as a stage play, does that count? Tongue

Watched Alien 3 the other night because I was bored. Not one of the better films in the franchise, in my opinion, but at least it got me in the mood to want to go see Prometheus sometime.

Tiny Furniture

Unless you are into very indie hipster type movies, you will not like this one at all. If you are, you will probably enjoy it quite a bit. I did.

The Dictator

Meh, it was funny, but I felt rather underwhelmed.
