I finally got to see Pans Labyrinth. I disliked the gross anti-Nationalist message, but the fantasy aspects and the visuals were done very well.

I saw The History Boys and The Good German on Friday.

The History Boys marketed itself as a musically influenced comedy about English boys trying to get into Oxford. It was mildly successful in that. The parts dealing with that storyline were done well enough that I laughed. However, a good third or more of the movie dealt with the boys 60 year old male teacher fondling them, one boy's lust for another, and one boy's lust after his (other) male teacher. Frankly, it was disgusting. The headmaster was opposed to the teacher fondling the boys, but was portrayed as almost the villain for it. Absolutely disgusting.

The best part about The Good German was how it was filmed to look like a 1940s detective thriller. As to the rest, I can't say as I slept through the first 45 minutes.

Last King of Scotland was a disappointment, but Forest Whitaker was still great.

Fracture

Solid flick, if predictable.

Starship Troopers.

Wow. What a horrible, horrible movie. And I even like science fiction and sex.

Sunshine

I liked how it was filmed, the visuals, some of the acting, and the music. The actual plot was farfetched and confusing at times.

I finally saw Bourne Ultimatum and thought it was decent enough. I disliked the first two.

I saw Invasion with Kidman & Craig tonight and thought it was very well done.

Halloween

It was entertaining, or as entertaining as a slasher flick can be.

Nanny Diaries

Mildly amusing. Scarlett Johannsen is a good actress/hot. That's basically all a guy can take away from the movie.

I saw Black Book and Sicko earlier this evening.

Sicko was Michael Moore's best film so far, but maybe that's because I agree with him more on this issue than on Bush/9-11 or gun control. He's certainly the master of taking facts and painting them into pictures to support his viewpoint.

Black Book was just wild and over-the-top, but what can you expect from Verhoeven? I felt pity for the SS Hauptsturmfuhrer, whose character was superbly played. The lead actress was good enough for the role. Watch out for a giant vat of feces, a woman's crotch, and multiple scenes of massacres if you see it.

French comedy isn't my thing, but the chick was hot.

My Best Friend

Again, not a big French movie buff, but Auiteil (?) was great.

You Kill Me

Ben Kingsley was hilarious.

I saw Namesake tonight.

Superb movie. A must see with a number of really strong performances (I really can't think of any bad performance). Music was great too.

3:10 to Yuma was solid, if not spectacular. Russell Crowe was great as always.

Pretty bad and they hid the two funniest scenes in the credits.

Ben Stiller's character's wife. She's super-hot.

The aforementioned titties were hers.
