If Biden does pull out a win in November, then Sanders's legacy will be that of someone who managed to remake one of the two most powerful political groups in the most powerful country in the world from a party that needed to appeal to hardline progressives to win in the general to a party that can do just fine without them. That is a level of long-term destruction of the progressive cause that no Clinton, Biden, or Trump could have ever managed.
