Feb. 22, 2027: Crenshaw, Gaetz, Carlson announce runs for President

Wikimedia Commons

Today, three more Republicans, Texas Senator Dan Crenshaw, Florida Representative Matt Gaetz and Fox News host Tucker Carlson have both announced runs for President in 2028. Both are considered outsiders in the race and in the Republican party overall.

Dan Crenshaw served as a Representative from Texas' second district from 2019 until 2027, when he was elected Senator from Texas. Crenshaw ran for Senate when 4 term Texas Republican Senator John Cornyn announced his retirement. Crenshaw served in the United States Navy and in Afghanistan in the early 2000s. Crenshaw was wounded in action in his third deployment and lost his right eye. Crenshaw is not widely known outside of his home state but he is fairly popular in Texas, especially among young conservatives in his home state. Crenshaw is a dark horse candidate for the Presidency and is not polling well compared to other candidates in the race.

Matt Gaetz has served as the Representative from Florida's 1st district. Gaetz is known very well for fear mongering and spreading lies about Democrats and liberals. Gaetz is fairly popular among conservatives in Florida but similar to DeSantis is very unpopular among Democrats, Independents, and even a big portion of Republicans and conservatives. Gaetz endorsed DeSantis, Florida's Governor in 2024, and has speculated a run in 2028, since then.

Tucker Carlson is widely known as a very conservative fox news host and is considered a staunch nationalist by many. He has been very critical of many Democrats and has used certain slander terms for certain Democrats, like President Harris. Carlson was a huge advocate for President Donald Trump and supported him in his runs in both 2016 and 2020. Carlson is considered a frontrunner in his own light in 2028, given the anger and deep division in the Republican Party. Many expected Tucker to run in 2024 but he never announced. In the end, he supported Mike Pence over Nikki Haley in the end of the campaign.

Sen. Josh Hawley (R-MO)
Sen. Dan Crenshaw (R-TX)
Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL)
Fox Host Tucker Carlson (R-CA)

Possibly, but not necessarily. It's kind of becoming the norm, now. So many candidates are running for President every election season (we've seen it in the 2016 GOP Primary and the 2020 DEM Primary)

Mar. 6, 2027: Massie, Ivanka Trump announce runs for President

Wikimedia Commons

Today, two Republicans, Kentucky Senator Thomas Massie and Ivanka Trump, daughter of late President Donald Trump, have both announced runs for President today.

Thomas Massie served as the Representative from Kentucky's 4th district from 2012 until 2027. He then was elected Senator and beat the Democratic incumbent who assumed office after the resignation of long term Kentucky Senator Mitch McConnell, who died weeks after. Massie is known as a libertarian Republican and represents that wing of the Republican party. Massie also associated with the tea party wing of his party when he first ran for public office in 2012. Massie has the lowest name recognition of any candidate in the race so far. He is not known outside of his home state of Kentucky.

Ivanka Trump, the daughter of late President Donald Trump has announced that she will run for President. In 2015, Ivanka's father, Donald ran for President and at first was laughed at for running for President. Donald had flirted with running for President for decades but never actually ran until 2015. Trump quickly became the frontrunner in the party and won the Republican nomination. He then won a surprising victory against frontrunner secretary Hillary Clinton. Trump became President and was very controversial there. Ivanka, and her husband Jared Kushner were some of Donald's most trusted advisors during the Presidential campaign, and during Donald's presidency. In 2024, Trump's oldest child, Donald Trump Jr. ran for President and did not do well and dropped out fairly late in April 2024. In November 2025, Ivanka and Trump Jr's father, Donald Trump, the 45th President of the United States, died of a heart attack. Trump Jr. announced that he would not run for President in 2028, and soon after his sister, Ivanka announced that she will run for President. Ivanka cited that part of the reason why she is running for President in 2028, is for her father and his legacy and the 45th President of the United States. Ivanka is an interesting candidate and many are unsure if she really has a chance in 2028 for the Republican nomination.

Remind me - did Junior run in 2024?
Yes he did. He didn't do well in the primaries and stayed in the race until late April 2024.

Mar. 25, 2027: No DNC debates in 2028

Wikimedia Commons

The Democratic National Committee just announced that there will be no primary debates in 2028. The DNC basically just came around to support President Harris in her renomination. There will be no primary debates and Harris will all but likely be the Democratic nominee again in 2028, unless something huge happens to change that. Harris remains popular among Democrats, and a good portion of Independents. So far in this primary, no Democrats have announced that they will primary Harris in 2028. Many expected Progressive New York Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez to run for President in 2028, but she opted to run for Senate instead, after New York five-term incumbent Chuck Schumer announced his retirement from the Senate.

May 15, 2027: President Harris, Progressives propose bill to make public college free

Wikimedia Commons

Today, President Harris met with Progressives in the Senate and the House of Representatives. Harris met with various "progressives," including Senator Ayanna Pressley (D-MA), Senator Katie Porter (D-CA), Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), and House Minority Whip Pramila Jayapal (D-WA). In the meeting, they discussed making college more affordable for the majority of Americans, especially middle and lower class Americans. They agreed on a bill to make public colleges free for Americans who choose to go to a public college like SUNY colleges in New York State. Also included in this deal is an agreement to make student debt affordable for middle and lower class Americans, who are struggling with student debt. The bill could pass the Senate, where Republicans hold a slight majority with 51 seats. Liberal Senator Phil Scott (R-VT), could join Democrats and vote in favor of the bill.

Jun. 10, 2027: Bill to make public colleges free passes in the Senate

Wikimedia Commons

Democrats' bill to make public colleges free in the United States, has passed in the Senate. The vote was 50 in favor, with 50 votes against. Every Democrat voted for the bill, along with Vermont Liberal Republican Senator Phil Scott. Vice President Pete Buttigieg broke the tie in the Senate, in favor
of the bill. Scott was asked about the bill and his thoughts on making public colleges free. Phil stated, "I understand concern about this. However, I do believe that we need to make public colleges free so middle and lower class Americans can go to college to receive a quality education. This is giving poorer individuals an opportunity to go to college. I'm excited to work with both Democrats and Republicans in my own party to give my opportunities to poor Americans, and to make life better for everyone." The bill will now move to the Republican controlled House of Representatives. Democrats will need at least 12 Republicans to join them in the House to approve the bill, assuming every House Democrat votes in favor of the bill. Many states, including both California and New York have made public colleges free for all who chose to attend those schools.

Jul. 10, 2027: Bill to make public colleges free fails in the House

Democrats' bill to make public colleges free in the United States, has failed in the House of Representatives. The vote was 211 in favor with 224 against. 204 out of the 206 Democrats in the House voted for the bill, and were joined by 7 Republicans, all moderates from the Northeast and Sunbelt. President Harris and Progressives in Congress have voiced their disappointment in the result. President Harris in a statement explained that she wished that there was a different result. She also said that she wants to make education, from pre-school to college affordable for every American. This is considered a failure for the Harris Administration. Many expected the vote to fail, but most expected it to be a little closer.

Aug. 17, 2027: First Republican Primary Debate:

Wikimedia Commons

Aug. 17, 2023: Republican Debate:
Location: Dallas, Texas
Winners: Haley, Carlson
Losers: Trump, Hawley, Gaetz

Highlights: The first Republican debate was very interesting and eventful. At this debate, many topics were discussed including immigration, taxes, spending, and the second amendment, and guns. Many of the candidates disagreed on many of the key issues. The number one frontrunner in the race, former United Nations Ambassador and South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley as expected came out as the main winner in the debate. She did very well and came out as a fresh face in the Republican party who can beat President Harris in the general election. She is polling close with Harris, while the other Republicans in the race are trailing Harris considerably. Tucker Carlson also came out as a winner in this debate and launched many successful attacks on the other candidates including Massie, Crenshaw, and Ivanka Trump. Carlson showed that he is very conservative and said that he wants to close borders and limit the numbers of immigrants that are allowed in the country. Most of the other candidates showed a contrast in Carlson's position but their attacks and talking points mostly failed. The daughter of late President Donald Trump, Ivanka didn't do well in the debate and came out as fake and "only in it for the money" as Carlson stated about Ivanka Trump. Missouri Senator Josh Hawley and Florida Representative Matt Gaetz also had poor performances in the debate.

Sep. 16, 2027: Bill Clinton dead at 81

Wikimedia Commons

Breaking News. Former President Bill Clinton has died at the age of 81 years old. Bill Clinton grew up in Hope, Arkansas and later went to the Georgetown, Oxford, and Yale University. In 1978, a 32 year old Bill Clinton ran for Governor and won after serving as Arkansas' Attorney General. Two years later in Reagan's landslide against President Carter, Clinton lost in a close election against Frank D. White. Clinton then ran again against White, and won. Clinton then served for four more terms, and ran for President in 1992. Clinton ran in the Democratic Presidential Primary and was not known around the country. He went on to win a surprising victory against many candidates including former California Governor Jerry Brown and the frontrunner in the race, Iowa Senator Tom Harkin.

Clinton then faced off against Republican President George Bush and Texas Businessman Ross Perot, who ran a very impressive third party campaign, the largest since Alabama Governor George Wallace in 1968. In the beginning of the Presidential campaign, Clinton was behind of both President Bush and Perot. Clinton went on to win the election in a landslide in the electoral college. Clinton won 370 electoral votes, with President Bush at 168 electoral votes. Although Perot did not receive any electoral votes, he received 18.9% of the popular vote in 1992. Bill Clinton became President and his presidency was not too eventful. Clinton won a second term against Kansas Senator Bob Dole, and Clinton won in a landslide once again, against both Dole and Perot. Clinton's legacy as President is mostly positive, given the United States' position coming out of his presidency. In 1998, reports came out that Clinton had cheated on his wife, First Lady Hillary Clinton with a White House, staffer. At first for months he denied it, but then he admitted that it was true. There have been many other allegations against President Bill Clinton as well.

Bill Clinton retired from politics and has not lived a quiet life after serving as President. First Lady, Hillary Clinton ran for Senate in new York in 2000, right when President Clinton had finished his second term. Clinton won and served as the junior Senator from New York from 2001 until 2009. Clinton served as New York's senator during the 9/11 terrorist attacks and voted in favor of the Iraq War in 2003. In 2008, Hillary Clinton ran for President and at first was considered the frontrunner. One-term senator Barack Obama from Illinois, then considered a rising star in the Democratic Party, went on to beat Hillary in a close primary race. Obama then appointed Clinton as the Secretary of State, where Hillary served for four years during the first term of Obama's Presidency. Hillary Clinton at this point was still very popular and almost every Senator confirmed her nomination to the Senate. In 2016, Clinton once again ran for President, and won the nomination in a close fight with Vermont Progressive Senator Bernie Sanders. Hillary went on to lose in the general election in a surprising loss against Businessman President Trump.

Since 2017, Bill and Hillary Clinton have lived quiet lives and have not been involved much in the Democratic party. Bill Clinton's funeral will take place at the National Cathedral, where past Presidents, including Trump, Bush Sr, and others have had their funerals. At Bill's funeral, former President Obama, former Vice President Al Gore, President Harris, and Bill's wife, Hillary Clinton will all give eulogies. The funeral will take place on Tuesday, September 21st, 2027 in Washington D.C.

Oct. 14, 2027: Second Republican Primary Debate:

Wikimedia Commons

Oct. 14, 2027: Republican Debate:
Location: Saint Paul, Minnesota
Winners: Trump, Haley
Losers: Carlson, Gaetz

Highlights: The second Republican primary debate was much more boring then the first. Although, controversial topics were discussed, the candidates agreed more then in the first debate. Overall, two of the frontrunners, Ivanka Trump and Nikki Haley did very well in the debate and came out as winners. Ivanka Trump spoke well and showed some of the carissma and appeal that her father had 12 years earlier in the 2016 Republican debates and on the campaign trail in his victorious campaign. Ivanka spoke well on the issues and had a uniting tone while she spoke. Former UN ambassador Nikki Haley also did very well in the debate, and came out as as winner once again. She showed her appeal and seemed very smart, and ready to be president. Fox News host Tucker Carlson, who had a very good performance in the first debate, did not fare well in the second Republican debate. He once again attacked fellow candidates Ivanka Trump and this time attacked Massie, for his libertarian leaning views. He attacked Trump and said that she is only running on her father's name, wealth, and presidency. She clapped back at Carlson, and attacked his tone and extreme policies. Carlson overall seemed very angry in the debate and even more radical then his fellow Republican candidates. Thomas Massie was attacked by Carlson for his libertarian views, and the attacks to most seemed ridiculous and stupid. Florida Representative Matt Gaetz once again had a poor performance and did not speak well in the debate. The debate overall didn't move the needle much, and did not have many effects.
