Jan. 20, 2023: Jimmy Carter dead at 98

Wikipedia Commons

Breaking News. Former President Jimmy Carter has just died at 98 years old. Carter served as the 39th President of the United States from 1977 to 1981. Carter won in a close election in 1976 against then President Ford, and then lost to Ronald Reagan in a landslide in 1980. President Carter's tenure as President is overseen by the Iran Hostage Crisis and other crises as well. Carter also served as the Governor of Georgia and is known for being the last President to win in the entirety of the south including in states like Alabama, Mississippi, South Carolina, and Texas in 1976. Bill Clinton won in the south in both 1992 and 1996 but it was nothing like Carter's southern landslide. Carter is also known for the Carter Center which promotes and expands human rights. President Biden and former aides and leaders are also expected to speak at his funeral. Biden was in the Senate during Carter's Presidency.

Jan. 25, 2023: President Biden will not seek a second term

Wikimedia Commons

Breaking News. President Joe Biden will not seek a second term in office. He will retire when his term ends on January 20, 2025.

There is now speculation that Vice President Kamala Harris might run for President. She ran in 2020 but dropped out in late 2019 as her poll numbers showed a poor performance. Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Governors Gavin Newsom, Andrew Cuomo, and Stacey Abrams, and Senator Cory Booker are rumored to be considering runs for the Democratic primary in 2024.

You think this was the result of Dems not pushing back hard enough on the Republicans’ deficit attacks? The Dem line should be “You guys had four years (and eight during Bush) to do something about the deficit, but instead decided to pass tax cuts for the rich and spend money on corporate handouts, foreign aid, and farm subsidies”.  Dems will need to repeat that line over and over and over again.

Mar. 8, 2023: Hunter Biden scandal

Wikimedia Commons

New scandals have just came out about President Biden's son, Hunter Biden. Hunter served on the board of Burisma Holdings, a major Ukrainian natural gas producer from 2014 to 2019. Hunter Biden has done a lot of controversial work and was not accused of any wrong doing. It has just came out today that Joe's son, Hunter Biden took bribes from Ukrainians when Biden was vice President and was Biden was elected President in 2020. Many believe that Biden might have known about this, but there is no evidence of that.

When asked, President Biden declined to comment. This comes as a major blow to the Biden administration which has had little scandal so far until now.
