Southern Citizen Petition: Daylight Savings Time Amendment

Per Article VII, Clause 1 of the Southern Constitution, We The People may introduce a constitutional amendment to the Chamber of Delegates if 1/4 of citizens sign on.

I hereby present the following amendment to be considered:

Daylight Savings Time Amendment
The following changes will be made to the Southern Constitution:

All references in the Southern Constitution to "Eastern Standard Time" or "EST" are amended to "Eastern Daylight Time" or "EDT".

This was introduced earlier this session, but unfortunately failed where 3/5 delegates didn't even vote. This is a common-sense amendment that aligns our elections with federal elections.

If you are a Southern citizen, please sign this petition and force the Chamber to reconsider. Per my calculations, this will need 25 signatures, or a member of the Chamber to agree to re-introduce this.

Perhaps not my place to comment, but can this be changed to merely require that the South adopt the current federal standard?
