Former truck driver Joshua Collins is running for the House of Representatives on a platform of socialism, a green new deal, and abolishing the CIA.

He's achieved viral notability and is betting TikTok and Twitter will take the place of traditional advertising to achieve his goals.

In the year leading up to his campaign, Collins and his wife moved their belongings to storage and lived in the truck to save money.

Collins was an owner-operator, someone who owns his own truck and chooses jobs to take on.

He doesn't trend anywhere.  He's got 70,000 followers on Twitter because he's spent the last year and a half relentlessly spamming social media with an article LawAndCrime wrote about him.  I keep tabs on Rose Twitter and I've never heard of this guy.

For instance here he is doing an AMA on the /r/ChapoTrapHouse subreddit, essentially the /r/the_donald of the Bernie left, where the entire front page is "Joe Biden is a rapist" and they had "anyone voting for Biden will be banned" pinned for quite a while.  It's really not surprising that this guy would say "Joe Biden is a rapist, I won't vote for him."

Back in 2017-18, subreddits like /r/politics and /r/political_revolution would feature near-daily AMAs with socialist/DSA candidates who were inspired by Bernie to primary their local Democratic congressman.  I used to enjoy reading them because they were highly entertaining.  These people were invariably idiots who just repeated talking points from far-left YouTube channels.  And they invariably got <5% in their primary races, after grifting for plenty of money.  The most entertaining one was some elderly woman who was running to be governor of Alaska but had never even been to Alaska, and was possibly a sockpuppet for her convicted felon son.  This is your revolution, folks.

They're doing it again this cycle although it hasn't reached 2018-level saturation left.  But this guy is just one of those kooks.  It's sad that he's apparently already wasted over a year of his life on his mission for attention and money.  But Berniemania is a hell of a drug.

It surprises me that these people are so into their social bubbles that they think running as a socialist has any tangible benefit instead of running as a progressive. If Marie newman ran as a socialist then she'd be wiped out. Many of these campaigns seem like their basically running to rehabilitate socialism than to win which is why they fail in the first place.

 And then what happens is that once they lose their supporters instantly put out allegations of rigging when its obvious they were never popular outside the 5-10% socialist bubble within the democratic primary

She's also very concerned about Russian interference in the 2016 election

So here's our timeline:

• 2017 and prior:  Reade is a huge Biden fan and concerned about Russia
• Sometime in 2017-2018:  She "makes Russian friends at a book club" and "watches a lot of Oliver Stone videos"
• Late 2018:  She writes a bunch of blog posts declaring Russian interference a hoax, condemning America and declaring her love for Putin.
• April 2019:  She accuses Joe Biden of "rubbing her shoulders" and "asking her to serve drinks" in the Union article.  Prior to the article's publication, she deletes all her pro-Russia Medium writings.  When they are found again, she is accused of being a Jimmy Dore Russia conspiracy nut.
• April-December 2019:  She suddenly hates Biden, and replies to celebrities/journalists/Trump hundreds of times linking the Union article, complaining about being called a Russian asset, and attacking Biden for Burisma.
• December 2019:  First time she ever describes being "sexually harassed" by Biden, and writes a Medium article labeling the party/drinks incident as harassment.
• January-March 2020:  She continues her pattern of replying dozens of times a day claiming to have been sexually harassed by Biden and linking her articles.
• After SC Primary:  She starts claiming to have been "sexually harassed and worse" and implying a bombshell is coming that will sink Biden and rescue Bernie.  #Bernie2020
• March 3-22 2020:  Same pattern -- dozens of tweets using the phrase "harassed & worse" with a bunch of pro-Bernie hashtags.

Well, that's the problem with megathreads.  They just get cluttered with low-effort spam and the high-quality effortposts get lost in the shuffle.

I don't know why on earth the mods chose to make this a megathread.  I put a lot of effort into a thread debunking this allegation and now it's completely wasted because it got merged with threads full of Biden-v-Sanders infighting and Russian Bear spam.

Meanwhile we have no less than 14 "rate my map" or "rate WhoCares County Wyoming" threads on this board.  Can't have more than one Tara Reade thread though.

Tara Reade claimed in her original story that she felt objectified and that the office saw her as nothing more than a pair of legs.  She was in her early 20s and her first job out of college was as an intern to Rep. Panetta, then was hired full-time as an aide for Biden.  She served in this position for 6-8 months.

Yet on Twitter, Tara Reade has also claimed that she was in charge of hiring decisions for Biden's office.  Not only that, but she was able to win a battle with the Chief of Staff over deciding who to hire!

Incredible that a fresh-out-of-college new-hire aide was given such authority and able to overrule the Chief of Staff!
