These people at rose twitter really scare me. Their hate and religious-like fanaticism can only be rivaled by the most extreme elements of Trump's base.

https://lawandcrime.com/high-profile/woman-claims-biden-sexually-harassed-her-when-she-was-14-years-old-by-complimenting-her-breasts/

So this was just published. Just Googling the author reveals that he is a Bernie or Buster who spreads conspiracy theories about DNC rigging and media bias, says Pete Buttigieg is funded by a Trump-supporting Russian oligarch, and whose Facebook is full of anti-Democratic Party and anti-Clinton stuff.

This is really getting ridiculous.

To be clear, I am not going to call Read a liar until the investigation is completed, but seeing such blatantly obvious agendas makes me increasingly believe that nothing is actually going to come of this.

What investigation? The police moved Reade's complaint to inactive status and there isn't a law enforcement agency investigating. All that is happening is a bunch of speculating about a claim that even Reade said that she didn't make in her 1993 complaint.

Just because she is a woman doesn't mean she isn't lying. You all have twisted Me Too into "anyone accused should step down regardless of whether the claim is true or not" and that really isn't what the movement is. It's not a political strategy to accuse someone of rape.

Many have misinterpreted what ‘BelieveWomen’ means.

‘BelieveWomen’ means that women should be provided the benefit of doubt.

It does not mean that all women must be believe, no matter how ridiculous the allegations.

You're absolutely right. I too believe allegations should be looked into, and looked into without prejudice (something we've been struggling to ensure for the women seeking justice for far too long). And the benefit of the doubt must apply to the accused part as well.

We know most of the allegations turns out to be true, but there are bound to be made up ones. And no one should be fired, forced to resign or, like in Biden's case, drooping out until something is proven.

This is the big point here. There's nothing really to look into.

  • The Complaint She Said She Filed: Doesn't Exist
  • Specific Location Where She Said It Happened: Unknown, Won't Disclose
  • Time When She Said It Happened: Unknown, Won't Disclose
  • Day When She Said It Happened: Unknown, Won't Disclose
  • Contemporaneous At-Location Testimony: None

C'mon now .. you're asking for time and day? How's she someone supposed to remember that now?

I may remember that I graduated from college, bought a pet dog, and met my soulmate in 1993. But I can't remember the specific day and time when those events happened. Nobody would, even if those events were memorable.

It could at least be some Saturday afternoon or something like that. It's a weaponized omission of information so that Biden can't claim any alibi.

Christine Ford had every detail down, which coincided with Kavanaugh's own calendar, which puts them together in the same place and location. There's at least that much to start to talk about and look into it.

This is the end game for these sore losers. They should not be allowed to pretend that they care about Tara Reade or victims of sexual assault. They just want an excuse to overturn the democratic election results and force Sanders down the throat of an electorate that just overwhelmingly rejected him. They are deeply sick people.

The Democratic Party normalized Sanders. That's the problem

Also even if things got so bad that Biden had to drop out, do we really think that Biden's delegates would pick Sanders for the nomination? Of course not.

Do the Sanders cultists that want a Goldwater-style culling of the DINOS understand what a GOP-super majority backed Great Society led by Mitch would create?

Exactly. Biden's delegates plus those of Buttigieg, Klobuchar and Bloomberg would not go for Sanders and at best Warren's would split 50-50.

1 month update:

*Pops head in*
*Sees that this is still 50%+ another Sanders vs Biden thread*
*Quietly tiptoes backwards out of thread**

At least this has turned into the defacto "F**k Bernie and all his supporters" Megathread instead of every other new thread being that. Certainly a better change from March

Blame the Democratic Party for normalizing them. They are a bunch of low level socialist losers. They can't understand that most Americans don't want their worldview.

Incredible that American voters could really be distracted by one or two women who might or might not have been victims of a sexually motivated attack by Joe Biden, while the village idiot in the White House who's endangering millions of American lives each day (did you drink your daily glass of disinfectant yet ?) gets a free pass ...

I hope American voters are not that retarded.

Most of the people that believe Trump's accusers will never believe a Dem's accuser, and vice versa. It's all partisan at this point.

This post accurately describes the behavior we've seen on this very thread. It's amazing how this forum's Democrats, many of whom were deeply skeptical about Joe Biden just a few months ago, have fallen in line behind him, and are offering a full-throated defense of him against these new allegations. These same people were fully on board with Ford as soon as she came forward. At this point, I think that a literal child molester could be the Democratic nominee, and they would be supported so long as Trump is out. The reverse is true for Republicans-they've bought onto Trump's nonsense hook, line, and sinker, and nothing, not even this coronavirus fiasco, is going to shake their loyalty to him.

That's not even the point. If this was true, Biden could be replaced as the nominee if necessary and Democrats would have a leg up on Republicans by showing that they replaced a nominee while Republicans opted to keep Trump despite him opening admitting to sexual assault.

There are too many inconsistencies in this story for it to be believable. Once Biden called for the record to be released, Reade suddenly flipped and said that her new allegation was not in it. Read between the lines.

Btw when will people start harping on Katie Halper for the fact that while she is just ripping on Twitter any person who defends Biden she herself cohosts a podcast with a guy with a very checkered past on sexual misconduct (Matt Taibbi)?

I think you are pretty close to the mark, and that's something I've said since Romney's 47% remark, only he was talking about hand outs and taxes and dependency.  I construed it directly to voting.  Therefore, the voters that truly matter (since each "base" is about the same size) are the independents and unaffiliated.  The way they turn out and the way they vote will decide this election.

In minor news, New Hampshire State Representative decided to go Full Akin when defending Biden.

There are many ways to defend our nominee without looking like a piece of ****. This is not one of them. Luckily, the party has asked this embarrassment of a human being to resign.

It's a shame they didn't ask Hennessey to do the same when she was making conspiracy theories about Lucy Flores, but I'll take it.

Exactly. Biden's delegates plus those of Buttigieg, Klobuchar and Bloomberg would not go for Sanders and at best Warren's would split 50-50.

They should if they want the Democratic Party to have any chance in November under this circumstance. If it comes down to this Biden ought to instruct his released delegates to vote for Sanders, the runner-up, and compromise with him being paired with Biden's already vetted running mate pick. It's becoming clear that we have to give the left what they want, and if they fail us in November it's on them at that point.

I'm starting to think that this is what needs to happen. I'm going to give Biden one more month. If his favorability and polling starts declining because of the media now giving the accusations more attention or because they are developing and snowballing more as COVID news gets stale-including the reporting of potential new accusations-then he has to go! It isn't worth the risk at that point to me.

I'm giving him a month because he probably won't clinch the nomination, if things continue as they are, until June and the convention thankfully isn't until August. If the situation starts looking dire enough then there is enough time for public pressure to mount for him to drop out. Perhaps a convention where Sanders becomes the inevitable inheritor of the nomination can salvage our party and our chances in November after what will have been some wasted time. That time is spent better wasted with no nominee than with Biden's entire candidacy being dogged by the allegations as they reinforce negative perceptions of him, making the Democratic Party look like hypocritical opportunists, and overshadowing what is otherwise his very winnable message. Let's face it, the zeitgeist just isn't on his side here; and he will not be able to get away with even the least of what Trump has. Republicans and the right are immune to self-awareness and an understanding of their hypocrisy. Any anti-Trump voter, Democrat, red avatar, etc. who is doing mental gymnastics to put themselves in a state of denial over how much Reade has flipped this election on its head are doing a disservice to themselves and the country by clearly not learning from 2016.

I hate this f***ing timeline. It really does feel like we're in an apocalyptic dystopia at this point.

Why should the second place finisher just be handed the nomination? Without rehashing the primary there are plenty of liabilities that Sanders has that would make him a guaranteed loser. And in the grand scheme of things Sanders has limited appeal as the primary showed and his strategy of turning out 18-25 year old voters did not materialize.

With that said, you reading far too much into this. Even Reade has flipped and denies that she reported a sexual assault after Biden called for the release of the record. I really don't think she was counting on that.

These people at rose twitter really scare me. Their hate and religious-like fanaticism can only be rivaled by the most extreme elements of Trump's base.

Also even if things got so bad that Biden had to drop out, do we really think that Biden's delegates would pick Sanders for the nomination? Of course not.

Where did she originally say the complaint included info about the assault? I just want to be able to have this info ready.

Chill out dude. These allegations are false, and if they can do it to Biden, they can do it to anyone.
