Legendary ex-Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich, a Democrat, cannot run for political office again in Illinois. He is barred from office.

Can he move to another state and make a run?

You have to admit he is talented and charming?

Is this a troll thread?

Of course not (SANE)

His corruption cost IL Democrats, the Senate seat in 2010, and his stain on his Lt. Gov Pat Quinn probably cost the Democrats, the 2014 Gov race.

I've interacted with Blago when he was Gov. He's charming in the same way the guy who sells knives at the state fair is charming. You count your fingers after you shake his hand.

Is this a troll thread?

It would have cost them the 2010 Gov's race and knowing that the Dems in the legislature took steps to protect themselves from a potential Gov Brady. However, there was a race for Cook County Assessor that mobilized a lot of workers to get out the vote for Berrios. Cook overperformed turnout expectations leading to Quinn's narrow victory.

He could probably win a divided Republican Primary in Illinois if Trump endorsed him tbh.

Maybe as a Republican or a Independent in Mike Quigley and Rahm Emanuel's seat, IL-05?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Illinois%27s_5th_congressional_district

He could beat Quigley in a three-way race. I believe U.S. House is the only race he can run in Illinois, he can't run for governor, lieutenant governor, etc.

He is on the conservative-leaning Newsmax website and TV show with the son of former NYPD Commissioner Ray Kelly, Greg Kelly (Used to work for WNYW 5)

https://www.newsmax.com/us/rodblagojevich-scapegoat-pandemic-hatetrump/2020/03/25/id/959973/

If he ran as an Independent, he'd take a lot of black votes away from Quigley. Black Illinoisans, especially black Chicagoans loved Blagojevich.
