Since I'm not going to be doing much on Atlas besides posting irregular updates for that eventual timeline whilst I work on my fics and such, I think I do have a good idea for a mini-game involving fictional people you made yourself. In this Mini-game, name TBD rn, you will play as A) A Businessman/Businesswoman, B) Teacher/Student, C) Veteran, or D) NOTA and you can choose to run a primary challenge against an Incumbent Senator, run for their open party race, or run as an Independent and hope to build momentum from there. You can try and build your own political dynasty in your state or, when your dynasty gets big enough if it succeeds, you can move into other states and even encroach on another player's senate race if you're careful enough. Once your main character gets old, you can choose who you want to appoint as your Dynastic heir and from there, once your character dies and the heir inherits, you can choose how to run the dynasty from there perspective.

Throughout the game, I'll send you messages on random events occurring in your state, such as issues, certain controversies/scandals involving family/you, and polling. And before anyone asks, yes, you will be able to have your children/family members run for political office.

While I haven't settled on an offical start date for the game, the 1930, 1932, or 1934 senate elections is where it'll start and you can go from there. You'll just need to create a character bio before I officially register you via Google Docs. You can send me your bio via discord or here, it doesn't matter. As for time constraints, there really won't be any and each player will be allowed to go at their own pace, though every Two Weeks, I'll give a special update reporting on how each player is doing so far. As for a race, a Primary will be 2-3 days while a race will vary in length depending on how competitive it is/might become. If it is Likely/Safe and will stay that way, than two days. If it's Safe/Likely but becomes competitive overtime, 4 days, and if it's very competitive, 6 days.

Here is an example of a character bio

Spoiler alert! Click Show to show the content.

Now, once you win the primaries and general senate election, like I said, a player will generally be given six days to respond to everything but can work at their own pace and can notify me when they're ready for an election to begin. If you're an incumbent, you can possibly face a primary challenge or not, though this will depend on a variety of factors. if you're approval rating is just above water (51 or 52 or just above unfavorable), then you'll receive a minor primary threat initially. If you're approval rating is strong (+55), then you'll be unchallenged. If it's underwater, then you'll get a strong primary challenge. How the primary goes is up to the player and each decision a player makes will have its own pros and cons.

Sorry if this game sounds mumbled and jumbled, I literally just wordbarfed this up on the fly.

For every race that happens in the game, once it's over, I'll immediately create a wikipage for the race and post it on a separate Races Thread that'll be different from the main game. Even if you lose the race in the end, it'll still be posted to show how the races are looking so far. It'll be easier on me if you used pictures from wikimedia and you gave me the link to them, but besides that, here is an example I cooked up for someone who holds some interest in the game (no, Horace will not appear in the game in any shape or form, he's just merely a placeholder to show the player what a wikipage will look like)

We have our first person running via Oregon Blue Dog, who is playing as Democrat Bryan Gallagher and is campaigning in the Class III (1932) Senate Seat in Oregon. If he beats Walter B. Gleason in the primary, he'll face Frederick Steiwer in the general and see if he can change history, turning what was IOTL a near 14% loss into a win.

the next person to message me a bio will see me post a Primaries board that lists each player, their party, their opponents, their races and the post will be edited with each new player who joins. Smiley

Alright, here is the Primaries so far. When each Primary is finished (three days from when the player gives me the thumbs up, ending at 8 PM EST on the third day), I'll bold the winner of the primary, the primary percentages, and the vote totals.

1930 United States Senate Race in Michigan

Republican Primary
*James J. Couzens, Incumbent Senator
*Daniel Goult, Macomb County Businessman [RGM2609]

1932 United States Senate Race in Oregon

Democratic Primary
*Walter B. Gleason
*Bryan Gallagher, Veteran and Portland Businessman [Oregon Blue Dog]

I want to tank Oregon Blue Dog for making me realize that I haven't exactly stated how primaries work, so I'm going to copy paste what I told them here. Hopefully it helps.

you can do 1 of 3 things : Campaign, have an interview, or gain a local endorsement. Each Player has 6 points a day in the primaries and each activity costs 2 points a day. At the end of each day (8 PM EST), you can feel free to request polling for your primary and even the general election. You'll also get 6 new points, but the activity you used the day before will go up by two points a day each time you use it, so be careful.

Wait, how long is a "day" in primary time? Like, how many days do I need to write a schedule for?

A day in primary time is two weeks, but you can post a brief summary. It's 6 AM-8 PM EST. Also, speaking of which, time for the first Primary Polls

Oregon Democratic Primary

Gallagher : 48%
Gleason : 47%
Undecided : 5%

Michigan Republican Primary
Couzens* : 70%
Goult : 6%
Undecided : 24%

First Primary results for the players

1932 Oregon Democratic Primary
Bryan Gallagher : 70.9%
Walter B. Gleason : 29.1%

Gallagher will face Senator Steiwer in the following few days.

1930 Michigan Republican Primary
James J. Couzens (I) : 63.2%
Daniel Goult : 36.8%

Goult fails in bid to primary Couzens, but GOP officials believe him to be a good candidate to run for Governor or House or maybe even Senate later on. Couzens goes on to barely win re-election against his opponent.

Did you see the message i sent to you? I just want to confirm that you know i want to join, since you didn't respond to my interest on this thread.

Yep. Sorry that I haven't been doing much here, but I'm currently working on something that some of you might or might not find interesting. It isn't political but I'd be willing to share to anyone who asks.
