Democrats only get a single digit number of votes in this rural county. I know why it’s heavily Republican. But why is it the most anti-Democrat county in the entire US?

No, probably not. As recently as 2018 a democrat won 23% and a democrat won it as recently as 2002.

I meant in number of total votes, not percentage. I saw this on CNN. Obama got 5 votes in the county.

The county also voted against Obama in the 2012 Democratic primary. Why does anyone bother protest voting when Texas has an open primary?

White. Rural. Texas. 'Nuff said.

Perhaps this video will help answer your question.

Didn’t you read my earlier post that I saw the video? Even for a white l, conservative, rural Texas county; it is still an outlier. Obama got at least double digits in most of the other areas.

It's probably a margin of error/sample size thing.  When the population of potential Democrats is so low in that region, it just happened that that county got a few less Democrats than would be expected.  It is an example of random variation that we don't see as much in bigger counties.  If one large Democratic family decided to move there, it wouldn't be that big of an outlier anymore.

The most famous ranch in the county is the Four Sixes--the 6666, so obviously they're trying to do the devil one better in their allegiance to the Rs.

In 2008, 84 people voted in the Democratic primaries and 20 voted in the Republican primaries. Obama got 27 primary votes and then 8 votes in November, which means McCain beat him with Obama primary voters.

At least McCain won the GOP vote there. In King County, Obama lost the Democratic vote to McCain. Why do voters troll the primaries there, when they can vote in an open GOP primary?

My apologies. I think I was half asleep when I posted that.

I would like to find the one Bloomberg-voting "Democrat" in that county though! Cheesy

It's literally the third-least populous county in the country
