Okay, maybe Mike Johnson is a competent parliamentarian.

Anarcho-libertarianism, but extremely socially conservative on culture war issues

Huh Dule doesn't have much patience for woke posturing or the internal culture of current progressive movements, no, but he's pro-choice and pretty stridently secularist.

For Cath: Pragmatic small-t traditionalism, more interested in institutions than in ideologies.

MAGA deplorable and proud of it, but not especially far to the right the way we typically understand far-right.

PQG: Socially liberal but fiscally conservative, but not in an aggressively out-of-touch way. I broadly agree with Cath's description.

Cassius is a bit of a cypher to me but he's definitely on the right, definitely not a post-1970s Thatcherite/right-liberal, and definitely not a crazed extremist (yet?).

Nathan:
A truly enlightened poster whose main tenet is that hardcore socialism and consistent life ethic are two sides of the same coin.

Three or four years ago when I was a little more uncompromising in my views in general than I am now, a friend of mine remarked that most of my thoughts on politics could be grouped under one of two propositions:

1. Abortion is murder
2. Communism will win

On The Issues I've never been nearly as auth-left as those principles normally imply--I've made my disdain for both the openly punitive Movement Pro-Life style of cultural politics and the crass anti-Americanism of much of the Online Left very clear in conversations you've participated in--but there was definitely some truth in my friend's observation.

Even more anti-post-materialist Old Left than I am.
