My preference is Rockefeller or Javits, but a primary from McCarthy would also be fine. Great work on the timeline!

Hoping for a Romney win, also interested to see how the debate ends up impacting the race.

Enthusiastic vote for Romney, also with the ways that the parties seem headed, I may stay a Republican in this timeline

Members of the 69%, full thoughts on the Romney/Brooke? administration thus far?

I like the move towards embracing civil rights, and I also like that they aren't being deficit hawks, and that they are willing to run some deficits to fund social programs.

Seeing Bayh as the GOP nominee is exciting, maybe I'd stay a Republican in this timeline.

So my thoughts are the Glenn had a very bad answer on balancing the budget, so Bayh probably won the debate, but the VP debate seemed to be a tie. I also agree with Elcaspar, in that the Democrats probably need a major late break in the campaign to win.

I'm voting for Bayh, but I think he probably loses Montana and Wisconsin, at least, from the description that you gave.

Wyoming has clearly been rigged for Democrats, so that means the Reps need to sweep ID, CO, and AK to win

I'm for Anderson

Also Bush seems to be running to the left of RL, which is an interesting development, unless he's just pandering...

Big mistake by Bush to not discuss foreign policy more on the grain embargo question. His performance in the debate was disastrous and the polls seem to agree.

With Glenn winning I'm very interested in how left the Republicans choose to go, will they go more left or try running to the center, or will they try to return to their right-wing roots, though that seems implausible since the Democrats have taken that spot. Also any updates on what Hillary Rodham is doing, it's been since the 1960's when we last heard of her. Also I probably missed it, but what exactly happened with the Iran Hostage Crisis? Did it not occur?

The realignment looks to be complete, also interested in where the WY investigation goes, particularly, if Congress does find out that the election was indeed rigged.

Charles Percy seems okay, though I'd like for John Andersen to run

Kemp is significantly to his real-life self, but doesn't seemed to have moved that left on economics, anyways, I want Andersen for the Republicans and Lloyd Bentsen for the Democrats.

Tepidly backing Kemp, but more because Helms is absolutely awful than Kemp being good. I’m expecting a liberal third party though, given both candidates are conservatives.

A Helms Presidency would be an utter disaster to the nation, and Kemp's loss would clearly show that the old conservative Republican Party and old liberal Democratic Party are both dead. Though honestly I'm wondering where Helms is doing well, outside of the South. Still hoping Kemp can hang on and defeat Helms, though.

Gore is fine, Casey is bad, but Kemp is also bad, voting Gore since the VP doesn't really matter
