Okay this is a fun one

He contests the Republican primary '68, defeats Packwood and reenters the Senate as a Republican. He is a staunch Romneyite and works to end the Vietnam War much earlier than OTL. He remains in the Senate.

I wondered if he would go back to his old party. He definitely seemed like a prime contender to do so.

Might support Percy as a tactical move. If/when Helms wins the nod I'm registering as a Republican.

I would probably be mostly voting Republican by this point. But, if I was still registered as a Dem, Helms would be the final straw. Can’t say I’m too fond of Rodman (he reminds me of Dennis Rodman).

I’m leaning Percy on the Republican side and Shriver on the Democratic side.

What is McCarthy’s platform? I’m still leaning Kemp, but I’m curious about McCarthy.
