According to the UN's Food and Agriculture Organization:

Amid generally well supplied cereal markets, early indications point to a near-record wheat production in 2020

So the apocalypse isn't nigh.

Hopefully we have a settlement built on a harbor with a 2:1 wheat exchange rate.

The latest revision incorporates recently released official figures with higher-than-previously projected yields in West Africa and Ukraine.

West Africa a wheat producer? I've learned something new today.

The last thing people need is more wheat in their diet.

Wheat is the most versatile, and the most nutritious, cereal crop.

Corn and soy are by far the most overgrown crops. Wheat isn't killing us. And I'm sure this matters much more for people suffering from malnourishment than it does for us. Lots of people would benefit a lot from more wheat in their diet.
