At least some pundits are realizing that sexism played a role in Bernie doing well in 2016.

C'mon. How much of it was actual sexism, and how much was aversion to Hillary Clinton personally?
A lot of it was sexism, look at what happened to every female candidate this year.

part of me wants to believe sexism had nothing to do with and it was all about Hillary but the reality is sexism played a huge role in what happened to her

look I have seen Male candidates with tons of scandals like Hillary had in 2016 but I have never In my life witness level of hatred for a candidate. even on non political sites I would have people talking about how much they hate her.

here is perfect example of what Im talking about

at this point 4 years ago today the website Politics Reddit was filled with nothing but negative news stories about Hillary

Today if you go to the same site is nowhere near as negative on Biden despite that fact that most of the people on that site are Bernie fans who claim they dislike as much as they do Hillary lol

Seems like way too many of you are trying to extrapolate Primary performances to general elections

Remember, trump crapped the mattress in Iowa and WI
Why not? If anything Clinton underperformance in midwest carried into the general.

She did well in states like Ohio and Florida yet lost those states

r/politics is establishment hack now, so I wouldn't use that to conclude that Biden is more loved than Hillary.

After a Super Tuesday landslide & a 20-25% projected win & without any debates, Biden may beat Bernie by single digits/Barely. That is good enough for Bernie & he was never going to win Michigan in this environment & without a debate.

Biden is a 100% loser & will lose Michigan in the GE to Trump. Trump lost Iowa to Cruz & then decimated Hillary there. This will be a long drawn primary. Otherwise Biden should accept that he is unelectable & drop out & endorse Bernie.

CNN and NYT have approx the same number of votes for each candidate in Michigan, but CNN says "54% in" while NYT says "31% reporting."
Does anyone know why this figure is so far off between the two?

CNN's number is a estimated vote counter, NYT is precincts. so NYT's assumes all precincts are equal, which is a poor assumption, but a simple one to get across the average person. Also, there is the early vote baskets in each county.

Well, I hope that the Democrats voting based on "electability" are right about Biden. I really do. If they're not, they'll have a ton to answer for, and we're all screwed.

Sounds like it's time for Bernie to drop the "Democratic" part from his "Democratic Socialist" self-identification. Liberal democracy never was and never could be a path towards socialism.

Scandinavia says hi.

This is the worst take I've seen. I understand being upset, you have every right to be and I would be too in your shoes. However, this take is just illogical

He's literally doing better than Hillary with WWC voters by a ton?
