Politico shows Bernie under viability in MS right now. He's at 13.5%.

Kalamazoo being so close is awful news for Bernie. The votes that are coming in from Michigan are all Election Day votes because absentee ballots are prohibited by state law from being counted in advance. Speaking as a certified election inspector, we use verity scan tabulators that electronically transmit results to the county clerk’s office as soon as the poll workers close the polls. Clerks across the state have been bracing for a deluge of absentee ballots but it looks like they’re probably not going to make that big a difference.

Sounds like it's time for Bernie to drop the "Democratic" part from his "Democratic Socialist" self-identification. Liberal democracy never was and never could be a path towards socialism.

The real question here is: Does Biden's strength in the WWC/Rural Dem counties translate to the general? If so, Trump is done.

At least some pundits are realizing that sexism played a role in Bernie doing well in 2016.

That's one factor, but in hindsight I think these primaries have demonstrated that Hillary was just a much weaker candidate than expected.

Half of Washnetaw (Ann Arbor) in on DDHQ, Bernie leads only by 5...
DDHQ shows it as 100% reporting for me and Bernie won by about 5.8.

Weird, it shows "0%" for me with Biden leading 5.8

Bernie could still be the nominee if Joe dies of coronavirus. A key will be if he is coughing during his speech tonight and at the next debate. Usually cough is 4-5 days before pneumonia.

I’d say you can’t draw that conclusion quite yet

I’m guessing it will. I think a lot of the reason so many rural Dems voted Bernie was as a protest vote against the party and that they were already locked in to vote Republican in November. If that’s true and these same people are voting Biden, that’s huge.

I hope Biden and his supporters won't get too cocky about their, pretty impressive I must say, triumph (probably the most epic primary comeback ever). Progressives may be in the minority, but Democrats need this bloc and shouldn't ignore it.

It's too late, they're already on the offensive, gloating and kicking the other side when they're down is more important than unity.

C'mon. How much of it was actual sexism, and how much was aversion to Hillary Clinton personally?

Scandanavia is liberal, thoroughly capitalist, and doing just fine. Also, I'm horrified at the notion people are now going to question liberal democracy at this point.

Bernie is not a lock for viability in Mississippi if you compare his vote share to his 2016 vote share in counties with precincts reporting...

A lot of it was sexism, look at what happened to every female candidate this year.

Well in 2016 Bernie shocking win over Hillary was the first big warning sign About her support among WWC/Rural Dem

In that case her weakness with rural white working class voters did translate to the general election
