Dems can't win alienating a third of their party. This primary is going to be really hard for Sanders supporters.

no one is alienating sanders supporters.
He's done nothing to bring the party together yet.

I'm not even gonna sugar coat it. This feels awful. I've clearly gotten quite emotionally invested in this process and watching it all tumble over like 10 days really hurts. I'm still proud that I volunteered for the first time with Bernie's campaign and I'm gonna do all I can to move a progressive agenda in the future to come. For now though I think I kind of need a break from all this. I'll be back though, and hopefully my input to this community will be more insightful when I'm not as invested in it. I'll see you all soon!

This is the reality of politics. I've never been invested in a candidate to the extent people here have, but eventually I will (republican 2024). I hope everyone who wants Trump out of office can unite and put aside their differences.

Except for Biden himself and basically every Biden supporter who are telling us they don’t want our votes?

I'm a Biden supporter and I not only want your support but we need your support to win. It's time for us to unite to defeat Donald Trump, which can only happen if we work together.

Trump brought this party together.  What no one saw less than two weeks ago happened in an amazing earthquake.

Its a big tent, but its not THAT big of a tent.  Biden needs to go hard to the center and pick a moderate VP, like a former Republican.

Looks like Bernie is being rejected again. Most of his vote was anti Hillary. His movement has to self reflect.  Glad this clown shown primary is almost coming to an end.

Extremely ironic, Biden has been advocating an inclusive "Unite the Party" mantra for the last week, whereas Bernie continues to rail against moderate and establishment Democrats (yet airs ads with Obama speaking favorably of him). How would Bernie have able been able to get moderate Democrats to back him when he's been attacking them the whole way?

I know the feeling. This campaign was always going to be an uphill battle, and I think for a variety of reasons Sanders was never going to win the nomination. However, I think what all of us Sanders supporters can appreciate is the way that he's moved the conversation toward a more progressive policy agenda and brought visibility to issues like universal healthcare, criminal justice reform, and taking on corporate interests. These issues speak to a lot more people than you might think. Building the kind of movement that Sanders speaks of takes time, and goes far beyond just one person running for President. You still have a lot of time left (IIRC you said you were a teenager), so don't lose hope. Stay active and use this loss as motivation to make an impactful change in our country's future.

Literally am currently talking to a group chat full of Biden supporters who are pretty much acting as if Bernie is the “real enemy” and that “yay Bernie supporters are all gone” - they’re pretty much doing everything they can to signal that Bernie supporters aren’t wanted in their sphere of support.

Which is also what the Biden supporters in this thread are doing.
