This is going to be Tom Barrett's toughest race for mayor ever. He couldn't beat Scott Walker for governor in 2012.

....he was re-elected four years later and he barely crossed 50% in the first round. Plus he won the DNC bid for Milwaukee. I don't see why he'd be in big danger.

It's not his toughest yet, it would be if it wasn't Lena Taylor. All the local black congressman are basically endorsing him because Lena Taylor has a big mouth and lies constantly. Guaranteed if she would have been mayor the DNC would not be coming here. He won't win with 70% of the vote but I don't see him getting less than 55%.

Also Taylor is arguably to the right of Barrett.

Barrett will become Mayor, Walker, was in during the time Paul Ryan was in the majority and, both men got Dems to vote for them. Now, that both are retired, Dems have a chance in WI

He's not screwed.  He has to fight for re-election, just like everyone else.

Unlike legislators, a city Mayor can't be gerrymandered into defeat at the polls.

Was there ever a great chance of him being favored to lose?
