Lean Biden. That's me being cautious though.

Repost from Biden's thread-

The Michigan primary seems like it could really have huge implications. Clinton had solid leads going into it last time but then Sanders won pretty much as a preview of what happened in the GE. If Biden wins it will show he has more strength in the rust belt than Clinton did.

Biden.
Sanders’ gains among Latinos will not help much here in comparison to Biden’s (relatively) better standing with rural white Northerners as compared to Clinton. Additionally, the Detroit suburbs will seal the deal for Biden.

Sanders, once his campaign learns from their mistakes they can start winning again.

Biden. Sanders pretty much needs a huge narrative shift to win anywhere outside of his strongest states, and it's hard to see how that happens in the next week.

Biden, though that could be anywhere from a blowout to simply getting Hillary's numbers-but-slightly-better-black-turnout-in-Detroit.

In what world does Bernie overwhelmingly win Michigan rural areas again after the results we saw in Minnesota?

After March 8, 2016, it proved you can never take your eye off Michigan.

Sanders, once his campaign learns from their mistakes they can start winning again.

They seem eager not to learn any lessons. That's kind of the problem with his entire campaign, trying to repeat 2016 without moving forward with any of the lessons learned from that loss. Given what I've seen there's too many yes men running the show, pretending everything is going according to plan, to even try to fix the current course.

So yeah, Michigan is Biden's to take. Sanders will be competitive but won't win it.

Granted what happened in 2016 was really really weird. Primary polls are often off and often by quite a bit, but that was still something.

Either way, I would be intellectually dishonest if I didn't say that Biden wins here and that it shouldn't really be all that close. He should win the Clinton coalition and do better than her amongst blacks in the cities and rural whites, while Bernie seems to pretty consistently underperform his 2016 numbers. Also, Bloomberg is now out. The establishment lane is completely united behind Biden and super tuesday results actually UNDERESTIMATED Bidens current strength due to early voting.

So unless a major narrative shift happens from now and until tuesday, it looks like an easy victory for Uncle Joe.

Biden is +5 in a poll conducted before Super Tuesday.  He'll be rolling into Michigan with one of the best weeks of earned media a candidate could ask for and the endorsement of Bloomberg.

Put it in his column.

The difference was there was a debate before Michigan in 2016 though

Gov. Whitmer endorsed Biden this morning as was named a co-chair of his campaign. Biden gets a solid win in Michigan between 4-7 points.
