Tentative projection for Medicaid expansion (based mostly on s[inks]tty methodology of NYT "precincts" - though mail voting is minimal in MO as I recall):

Quote
769,000 Yes   53.6%
667,000 No   46.4%

1,436,000 Turnout

And Platte voted to the left of Clay. Not a clue how that happened.

Congrats to Cori Bush and to the Medicaid expansion approval! A great day in Missouri!

Tom O'Halleran appears to be having a relatively close call in AZ-01.

Anyway, this was just the initial results. The challenger won Coconino (flagstaff), but the rest has come in strong for Tom.

Oh and Clay is now down, though that has already been reported.

Anyway if I was a Democrat I would vote for Bush solely due to the gerrymandering.

Bush isn't great, but Lacy Clay sucks too, so I don't care too much.

What the ****? Bush actually won?

Not that there's anything wrong with that - I'm actually shocked.

With 82% of precincts reporting for in-person voting only in MI-6 this is the current tally:

Jen Richardson: 17,179 53.7%
Jon Hoadley 14,826 46.3%

Hoadley is only winning his home county of Kalamazoo, while Richardson is winning Berrien, Allegan, Cass, Van Buren, and St. Joseph by sizable margins. The good news for Hoadley is that there are over 10,000 absentee ballots in the city of Kalamazoo alone, which is Hoadley’s home turf. He’s represented the 60th House district since 2015, which mostly encompasses the city of Kalamazoo. The official Kalamazoo County website says that none of the returns from the county are absentee ballots. Van Buren still has to count absentee ballots, Allegan’s website says nothing about whether absentees are still outstanding, same for Cass, St. Joe, and Berrien.

I'll say the same thing about MO that I did about the OK expansion map, the rurals have become so dumb that they'd vote against electrification at this point.

Eh, I didn't really care who won the primary. Bush is just another cheap AOC-type pol and Clay screwed over the MO Dems.

I had no real horse in the Clay/Bush fight although I likely would have voted for Clay, but if we keep seeing fluke primary losses like this and Tipton going down, you're probably going to see a bipartisan push to repeal sore loser laws over the next few years.

Since I don’t think TrendsAreReal or IceSpear have done it yet, I’ll point out how rural #populist MO rejected Medicaid expansion, while the neoliberal elitist suburbs voted for it.

I'll say the say thing about MO that I did about the OK expansion map, the rurals have become so dumb that they'd vote against electrification at this point.

The deplorables in the sticks are voting against their own economic interests to own the libs. News at 11.

So the [non-Atlas] red state of Missouri has now expanded Medicaid coverage, rejected right-to-work, and increased the minimum wage to $12 an hour. And they're still going to turn around and vote for the tangerine tyrant in November. *facepalm emoji*

Still, a good night for progressives in this right-wing cesspool. What a great present for the birthday boy President Obama from the Show-Me State! Cheesy

Tbh I think it's been several months since IceSpear last posted.
