Highlight of the night for me. Gurtler has good odds in the primary and the seat's basically unloseable for a Republican.

Between Gurtler, Brakey in ME and Mace in SC the libertarian contingent of the Republicans could double. If Trump completely sh**ts the bed the latter two might be toast but I'm thinking he'll recover enough to make both viable even if he still probably loses.

NV-3 R: Rodimer
Supreme Court D: Herndon

Uncalled: NV-1 R, NV-4 R

Also Bourdeaux has climbed to 49.8% in GA-7. Doesn't look like there is all that much left to count, but something to keep an eye on over the days to come.

When you can't even trust the AP as a fail safe anymore, you know it's bad

GA-7 called for Bourdeaux

The Drive thru primary in VA-5 ended 3 hrs ago, but they haven't even started counting because Riggleman is challenging something about the Campbell Co Box.  No word on if Big Foot participated.

So uh:

Quote

Bob Good (...) is running (...) for a chance to represent the state's 5th District.

Candidates were required to submit their qualification forms by June 9 to appear on the November ballot, but Riggleman is raising questions after Good missed the deadline.

Riggleman told The Hill that Good is "technically in the running" in Saturday's primary "but he couldn't be on the ballot in November even if he miraculously beat me."

(...)

The state Republican Party sent a letter to the board on Friday urging officials to grant extensions after Good and another candidate, state Del. Nick Freitas (R) (...) missed the deadline.

Both candidates hand-delivered their forms on Friday [June 12 I suppose], the State Board of Elections (BOE) confirmed to The Washington Post.

Officials on the state elections board are slated to meet on July 7. The board would have to grant the waivers to allow for the candidates to appear on the general election ballot.

People on Twitter are saying that Riggleman has lost to Good.

It's people who don't know what they're talking about. Latest from the Roanoke times reporter following this:

Riggleman team is still saying they have issues with the Campbell County ballots. Good team said Riggleman side threatened to sue.

Good is telling the crowd the Riggleman team is contesting ballots and that’s why we keep having delays in results.

Who knows when we’ll have results!

As someone who doesn't know VA all that well, would Riggleman or Good make the seat more competitive in the Nov. general election?

The presumption is that Good is the weaker nominee as he's way more socially conservative.

So apparently Campbell County is the difference between Riggleman winning and Good winning:

Source in #VA05 tells me that Bob Good has more votes than Denver Riggleman. Campbell County put Good over the top, but it is being contested and lawyers are involved trying to get the entire delegations votes thrown out.

Still some people outside in the parking lot waiting to hear from Good.

No results. Apparently the counting is happening, but who knows what’s actually going on in the Tree of Life red room.

People are starting to pack up the stage equipment at the Good gathering.

Crystal Ball moved it from Likely to Lean R expecting Good to prevail.  I'm sure the convention conflict won't help him if he gets the nod.

Sounds like Riggleman will be declared the loser and he intends to go to war.

BREAKING: Results are in for the 5th Congressional District GOP convention, and Bob Good has been declared the winner. Rep. Denver Riggleman has lost his renomination bid in a convention consumed in controversy until the very end.

D primary is 6/23.  Real primary.  Between 3 Marines and a doctor.  Probably tilt R to tossup after the fiasco tonight.

It's canvassing day in WV, when the counties will count all votes that arrived after election day plus provisionals.  With 8 of the 16 counties in WV-3 complete, Hilary Turner has moved 37 votes ahead of Mr. Lacy Watson.  Their respective home counties have both reported and the remaining 8 are a relatively even battle.  Still a coin flip as to who will win.

Three counties left to finalize their canvas in WV-03 and Turner leads Watson by 73 votes.  Statewide, in the AG race Petsonk leads Sponaugle by 130 votes with 11 counties still canvasing.

Hmmm... any suggestions about the best DEM candidate to take on Carol Miller in WV-03?

Also, similar question with the WV-AG race?

Results are going to roll out as they are, but obviously this is a strange enough election where we might see "unusual results" even within the heart of "Trump Country" at the down-ballot level...

Don't really care what ends up happening in WV-03 or WV-AG at this point. Could be litigated for months.
