I don't want to be overly confident about a Cooper blowout, but a pattern starts to emerge here. At least for now.

Likely D. Race will tighten, however. Cooper wins by 10. A future Democratic presidential contender.

Wow! I've really been underestimating him. I had this race as a tossup for awhile. It's probably a really good time to be an incumbent Governor.

I wonder if this race is a preview of how governors who handled their states' coronavirus response well (or at least not poorly a la Kemp, DeSantis, etc) will do when most of them are up for reelection in '22. I don't see Whitmer or DeWine having any problems when they face reelection, for example.
