I would like to state that I am initially opposed to this legislation as it is undemocratic in my view.

Yeah No. The government should not be able to expand its majority by taking advantage of the unexpected resignation of a minority member.

Not really sure what's the problem with the current same party Appointment law, since it lays out what to do when no replacement can be found.
