I am a millennial bordering on Gen Z (born Nov 1994, Gen Z is 1995+), I’m thus obviously friends with, work with, interact with, go out with, hundreds of similar young millennials / Gen Z people.

I’ve never met this hypothetical socially conservative, 1960’s mentality on sexuality and race, bigoted, Gen Z you seem to be clinging on for hope to. Please tell them to introduce themselves.  

I’m sure a few of them exist, most likely raised by similarly bigoted and socially backwards parents, who weren’t socially aware or intelligent enough to break out of that mold, but I hate to break it to you — my experience is they are an extreme minority.

They should be treated like segregationists in the 70’s /  80’s / 90’s. Period. To be pitied and (hopefully) educated.

Historically, for every "culture war win" the left has, the backlash becomes much more painful. But the millennials leave me little hope, and I can only hope for their apathy and disengagement. And I'm hardly optimistic about that stopping the social decadence to come, but I don't think the tsunami will stop before we are wiped out. We may have reached the most half-hearted backlash to date.

When America is relegated to a second class country, at least we will still have our craft beer, our sexual identity and, if we're lucky, our 9 point touchdowns.

Social decadence is cheating, lying, ghosting, etc. Threesomes, gay sex, trans sex, pegging, BDSM and cuckoldry are certainly not everybody's cup of tea, but it's consenting adults doing what they like in private and nobody's getting hurt.

Right Wing Nationalism is inherently anti LGBT. Just look at Hungary.

America isn't going to follow the eastern European regression on these issues. We're gonna go the Germany/Holland/UK route where even the right wing populists will be pro gay rights.

I'm a 55-year-old gay fart. I was preoccupied while this thread was raging yesterday, so I haven't had a chance to peruse all of the comments in this thread until now.
I have given some of the comments a "recommend" for saying something about the LGBT community that I do agree with. Not all of the pro-LGBT comments, but just some of them. But I will not give a "recommend," or show any support/agreement to the comments, like Badger most recently, that insinuate Grassroots is a closet case because of the kinds of comments Grassroots has made on this thread. I do not take it for granted that somone who is anti-LGBT is probably a closet case, and it reeks of desperation to try to say that they are.

Just my "moderate hero" observation about the comments on this thread.
