If Sanders gets the nomination, the presidency gets triaged by Democratic donors and control of Congress becomes the goal. Sanders has made it clear that his base is separate than from Democrats, so he will sink or swim with his Joe Rogan listeners.
So much for wanting to stop Trump

It's not about wanting to stop Trump, it's about facing reality. At best Democrats only have a chance to put on a check on Trump at this point and that is where resources have to be put at this point. Once Trump airs an ad of Sanders singing half naked in the Soviet Union, the race is over.

The Sanders campaign has literally said their general election message is going to be "Trump wants to cut Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid. Bernie wants to expand Social Security and guarentee Medicare for All." That's going to be 100x more effective than any "socialism sucks!!!" pitch from the Trump campaign.

Some people put too much stock in PR. Sheesh.

Hopefully that will work because it would obviously better for Sanders to win than Trump, but you can't underestimate how many voters are hung up on things other than the issues. I'm just saying that Sanders is going to face a barrage of attacks from Trump and it's naive to pretend that he won't.

That's naive to pretent any candidate won't face a barrage of attacks. Socialism, Burisma, Pocahontas, Bloomberg wants to take your guns and send you to jail...

Huge margin of error as usual for Monmouth, but unmistakably a terrible poll for Joe Biden.

Still a long way to go, but hopefully the folks calling the nomination for Biden throughout last year have learned something about how unpredictable primaries can be.
