I would say she would have lost it against some but not others. Like say Rubio for instance I would imagine beat her in the popular vote, Kasich I think would be on par, but I think she would still beat Cruz in the popular vote

No. The old Republicans didn't sell well. Only a personality as flamboyant as Trump could expand the Republican base and render the neocon bogeyman obsolete. Anyone else would probably be a Dukakis, maybe except Rubio. Maybe. But he didn't shake things up enough to disprove the charges Democrats had used successfully against McCain and Romney.

Rubio, Kasich, (Jeb) Bush, or certain others who had run could possibly have beaten Hillary in the popular vote. Cruz, not likely; he might have performed even worse than Trump.
