Thanks for the support, everyone!

Hello Atlasia! Today, I'm officially announcing my run for Fremont Parliament as a member of the Labor Party. I believe I can provide a fresh, independent voice for this legislative body as a moderate willing to work with all sides to craft quality solutions.

There's only one moderate independent voice in parliament and that's me. You're a Laborite now, so stay in your lane.

Yo, just because I'm in Labor now doesn't mean I can't be moderate and/or independent??

I don't mean to be rude. I'm just always on edge for the threat of someone trying to take my seat. You're a very nice person and a jolly good moderate, and it will be a pleasure working with you if we're both elected.
I'm just always concerned about attempts to steal the only opposition seat in parliament.
That's fair. I intend to vote for you as well, though!

I've already told you this multiple times on the Discord, but to make it official here, congrats, and good luck in Denver.
Again, thank you both! Looking forward to getting some things done in Denver.

This was my platform for the February 2020 elections.

Quote
Hello Atlasia! Today, I'm officially announcing my run for Fremont Parliament as a member of the Labor Party. I believe I can provide a fresh, independent voice for this legislative body as a moderate willing to work with all sides to craft quality solutions.

Platform

Climate Change and Energy: As Representative, I intend to advocate for initiatives to combat climate change, the greatest threat to human civilization since Nazi Germany and the Soviet Union. It's great that Fremont is already at the forefront of fighting this menace, but there is still more that can be done. I believe that investing in both state and private initiatives to continue the research and implementation of renewable energy sources will go a long way towards ending the age of oil and reducing Fremont's carbon footprint as much as possible.

Conservation: Oregon, my home state, is one of the most pristine states in the country, and preserving natural beauty (in Oregon, Fremont, and all Atlasia) will be one of my foremost priorities. I believe in protecting the wilds of Fremont from corrupt corporations, and I would support the extension of nationally protected areas - such as Bears Ears - across Fremont as Representative.

Progressive Equalism: As Representative, I will stand by the ideal of Progressive Equalism - the belief that regardless of gender, race, sex orientation, age, religion, and national origin, that all Atlasians are and should be equal in the eyes of the law. I will steadfastly oppose any attempts to infringe on this doctrine of equality, and I will support initiatives to close legal loopholes and ensure that all Fremontians can stand on equal footing.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
March 11, 2020

With the recent news from the WHO, as well as numerous celebrities, it has become clear that the issue of coronavirus is incredibly urgent, and dangerous. My office is hereby calling upon the Atlasian Federal Government, as well as regional governments, to immediately consider legislation to allocate funding to coronavirus containment and fighting. I support the bill cosponsored by Speaker thumb21 and Representative Elcaspar, and I believe it should be debated and passed in all haste. With COVID-19 spreading both visibly and invisibly across Oregon, this nation, and the world, I hope our friends in Nyman will take the appropriate action to respond to this virus in force.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
March 22, 2020

I am deeply concerned and alarmed by the recent calls to rename Atlasia to 'Talkasia', and I will join my colleague in Iowa in strenuously opposing this change. I believe that the great Atlasian region of Frémont is united behind First Minister Truman, Madame Speaker Koopa, and myself in standing against this blasphemy. The state of Oregon will consider seceding from the Union if this change does indeed go through.

Kanorado, Colorado - Speech Livestreamed on Office Website and social media
(note - the only other personnel on site was a cameraman, and 6 feet social distancing rules were followed with utmost care)

Image from Creative Commons

Hello, Kanorado! Hello, Frémont! I stand here today on the border between the great states of Colorado and Kansas, where I can see for the first time our great region's new welcome signs. However, I suspect they soon won't be needed.

Yesterday in Denver, I voted with my fellow MPs to take the first step towards freeing the state of Kansas from Southern tyranny and indifference. By recognizing the rightful status of Kansas as a member of our glorious commonwealth, we send a message to both Nyman and Nashville - the southern occupation of Kansas will no longer be allowed to stand! The state of Kansas, with a storied history of freedom and Great Plains individualism, stands in stark contrast with the history of racism and authortarianism of the Southern region it has been forced into. As Frémont, and hopefully Nyman, begin to take action, I look forward to welcoming the Sunflower State into our great region.

As always, given the current crisis, I urge all citizens, no matter their state or region, to practice social distancing and heighten their awareness of personal hygiene. We in Denver are taking action against this menace, but you MUST do your part by keeping yourself - and your loved ones - safe and sound. Thank you for watching today, and Gloria Frémontis!

Re-Elect Oregon Blue Dog to Frémont Parliament - Virtual Campaign Event
Portland, Oregon

Hello, Portland! Hello, Frémont!

I'm here today to officially announce my re-election campaign for a second term in Parliament. With a field larger than any other in recent history, this election is looking to be an exciting event - and I'd be highly grateful for your support.

Platform:

Active, Moderate Leadership: I’ve been one of the most active MPs in Parliament this past term. I authored the first draft of the Higher Education Reform Act, a historic bill that will allow Fremont college students an unprecedented amount of access to tertiary education while also ending harmful affirmative action practices in college admissions. I also passed several significant bills during my tenure - a wide-ranging infrastructure bill that brings high-speed rail service to previously bypassed communities, a criminal justice bill that directly targets lingering racist influence in our police forces, courts, and jails, an emergency bill to address the effects of the COVID-19 crisis on our school, and an experimental universal basic income bill that aims to establish whether that practice is socialist fantasy or a legitimate way to combat poverty (while additionally examining how such a policy can be used to encourage workforce participation). If I am re-elected, I’ll continue to be vigorous and active in Denver, and I won’t hesitate to start legislative initiatives to help improve our great Commonwealth. I'll also continue to  be a moderate, pragmatic voice in Parliament - I will not hesitate to work with my fellow MPs across party lines and put the wellbeing of Frémonters over partisan considerations.

Energy Legislation: If elected, I’ll make crafting a bill to accelerate renewable energy development in Fremont a priority. Climate change and resource depletion are both dangerous threats, and expanding renewable energy is perhaps the most logical way to fight it - while the regionalization of energy was a questionable move in my opinion, it does provide an unparalleled opportunity for solar, wind, geothermal, tidal, and hydroelectric development. Of all the regions, Fremont has perhaps the most natural assets, and we should take advantage of them to set ourselves on the road to a carbon-free economy. I’ll support a combination of private innovation and public works projects to achieve this lofty goal.

Equality for All: I’ve backed numerous initiatives to make Fremont a more equal region, so income and skin color do not decide what oppurtunities you have in life, and I will continue to do so. If re-elected, I’ll continue be a strong supporter of marginalized Fremonters, and I’ll back legislation that aids in making Fremont a more equal Commonwealth.

Thank you, my friends!

Tonight, we have won an overwhelming victory and a historic mandate to continue the reform and progress brought upon by the incumbent Labor government! I'd like to thank the voters of our great region for making this win possible, and I'd like to offer congratulations to my fellow MP-elects - ASV, Tirnam, and Ted, not to mention our Eternal First Minister, the incomparable Mr. Truman. I'm looking forward to working with y'all next session.

It's been a fun election, and one of the most memorable in recent regional history. Let's make the results count.

I'd like to offer thanks to everyone who voted in Frémont. I am honored to receive a mandate to serve in the 17th Parliament. I'd also like to congratulate First Minister Truman and my fellow MP-Elects Scott, DeadPrez and PSOL on their victories.

As IRL events begin to take precedence, I will not be able to complete the job of Speaker at a level I consider adequate - therefore, I will be yielding the gavel to my fellow MP-Elect Scott. Scott's a dedicated and experienced public servant, and will be an excellent Speaker. It has been a great honor to serve as Speaker of Parliament, one that I will not soon forget. Regardless, I hope to serve out the entirety of the term. And lastly, I'd like to congratulate my former colleague MP Ted Bessell on his apparent ascendance to the Atlasian Senate, thank outgoing MP Tirnam for an excellent term in Denver, and thank outgoing MP AustralianSwingVoter for his many terms of dedicated public service. I wish y'all well.

Thank you again for this win, and I eagerly await the commencement of the next Parliament and Congress. While the results do not appear to be favorable at this time, this is not the beginning of the end - it's merely the end of the beginning. Good night.

Thanks to Ted Bessell and the Labor Party for entrusting me with this appointment to the Atlasian House. I've consulted with legal experts and I won't have to resign my seat in the Fremont Parliament (due to this being an appointment), so I look forward to serving y'all in both chambers.

This is now my official House office, so any inquiries can be directed here.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
December 1, 2020

While forever wars in far-flung countries with dubious oil-based justification have been some of the darkest taints on our nation's history, our position as the world's superpower means that we must act in clear-cut cases to support democracy against the scourge of authoritarianism and fascism. And such a case the nation of Paflagonia is - after years of iron-fisted rule and electoral by the dictator Kummerspeck, freedom fighters are at last rising to call for free elections and the restoration of free will of the people. I believe strongly that it is our duty as the arsenal of democracy to come to the aid of these freedom fighters, the Paflagoninan Unity Party, and throw the full weight of Atlasia behind their push for liberation.

As your Representative, I am calling for the President to immediately recognize the PU government, and lead an international push with the European Union for fair elections. When adversity calls, Atlasia shall not shy away to help free oppressed peoples, and must act with the urgency of the world's premier democratic power.

Portland, Oregon
social distancing and masks mandatory, streamed live on OR Labor website

Hello, Portland! It's great to be home.

When I first entered politics under the banner of the Labor Party, Atlasia was a vastly different place. Adam Griffin was still president. Schools and businesses were still open and bustling, a stark contrast to the thousands of closures still lingering across Oregon and the nation today. But, as your representative in Parliament, and now in the People's House, my fundamental philosophies have not changed. I'm still committed to being a pragmatic, progressive voice for the people in government. And I'm still committed to actively fighting for the values y'all believe in - whether it's taking initiative on the impeding climate crisis, advocating for racial justice, or ensuring that the coronavirus crisis is seen to a successful close.

I'm here tonight, in part, to announce my campaign for a full term in the House of Representatives. I received the great honor of a House appointment last month to replaced esteemed Representative Adam Griffin, and since then I've been one of the House's most active voices. If re-elected, I'll continue to pursue a progressive legislative agenda - passing bills that invest in our people while standing firmly against bills that negatively impact Oregonians or promote outlandish conspiracy theories. I hope y'all will join me in this fight, and I'd be honored to receive your vote.

Beaverton, Oregon

Good evening, friends!

As the first day of voting closes, I'm glad to say that our campaign is ahead and in solid position to take a House seat come Sunday night, and by my numbers, our progressive Labor majority will likely be returned as well. I'd like to take this time to thank the good folks that voted for me already, and to encourage anyone who hasn't yet turned out to cast their ballot for a better Atlasia! Thanks again, y'all, and let's bring Oregon Values to Nyman!

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
December 30, 2020

I was horrified and saddened to hear that a group of so-called "pro-Fremonter" radicals would attempt to kidnap a sitting governor, James Benson of Kansas, in an attempt to extrajudicially overturn the results of an election that were clearly free and fair. While we may disagree on the issues, there is no political dispute great enough to merit the blatant display of anti-democratic thuggery these vandals attempted to put on. I condemn the acts of the "Pathfinders" in the strongest possible terms, thank the FBI under Attorney General Truman and President MB for acting to protect the legitimate elected government of Kansas, and send my best wishes to Governor Benson and his family as they recover from these shocking, despicable events. Furthermore, I urge all "pro-Fremont" Kansans to reconsider any notion of violence they might be considering due to the recent string of electoral victories for the Southern side - we must have the utmost respect for our nation's free and fair elections, and in no instance is attempting to cast aspersion upon these results through violence acceptable.

I am also surprised and angered by Paflagonian dictator Adolf Von Kummerspeck's attempts to further subvert the democratic apparatus of his country while imprisoning and intimidating political enemies like a second Stalin. His behavior is unacceptable, and we cannot let it stand. As a member of the People's House, I condemn Kummerspeck's brutal, inhumane "retribution, reiterate my support for Gerta Baer and the Paflagonian resistance, and urge unified international pressue, and if needed, action, to end Kummerspeck's illegitimate regime once and for all.
