Since "alternate them" has basically won the poll at this point, and CNN came in as runner up, we'll be alternating but starting with CNN.

Election Update 2020
with your hosts, Wolf Blitzer and John King

Blitzer: Good evening. I'm Wolf Blitzer, here with Kentucky Governor and Democratic vice presidential nominee Andy Beshear. Governor Beshear, how are you this evening?

Beshear: Good, Wolf. Happy to be here. How are you?

Blitzer: I'm good, as well, Governor. Now, to business: many on the right have complained about the fact that you would enter the Vice Presidency with only a single year’s experience as Governor of Kentucky under your belt. What do you say to those who fear you’re not ready to take up the top job at need?

Beshear: Well, before I was Governor of Kentucky I served as the Attorney General for Kentucky for 3 years. During that time I sued the Governor at the time, Matt Bevin for attempting to lower teacher pensions. As Attorney General, I made sure that the Affordable Care Act remained law and that hundreds of thousands of Kentuckians kept their healthcare. And with just a year in office so far, we completely changed the Kentucky Board of Education, appointing members who actually are educators and know the value of a proper education. And on my second day in office, I signed an executive order granting the right to vote to nonviolent felons. A Gillibrand administration will protect healthcare for all Americans, make sure that all students have a fair shot in school, and expand the right to vote.

Blitzer: Experience made all the better for being hard-earned. Now, as Governor, you’ve worked with a Republican state legislature to pass numerous bipartisan pieces of legislation. Do you believe you could have a similar effect as President of a Senate that’s generally rated as likely to remain Republican?

Beshear: Senator Gillibrand and I have a long history of being able to work with people no matter their party. With Kirsten's years of experience in Congress, and with my experience as an executive we'll work together to make sure that we can unite the country and finally get things done for hardworking Americans.

Blitzer: No doubt of that, given the evidence. Now, some within the party have noted that you seem to come from a completely different ideological mold than Senator Gillibrand, who has largely been running on a strongly progressive platform. Do you believe that this perceived sunlight between the two of you is an asset or a liability in running a country?

Beshear: I think this is an asset. What you have on one side is a belief that if you don't agree with the leader, then you need to get out. What our party brings is inclusiveness. You can be a conservative, a moderate, a progressive, it doesn't matter, you are welcome. Kirsten and I don't agree on everything, but a President doesn't need a yes man as their Vice President, they need someone who's able to tell them when they're right and tell them when they're wrong.

Blitzer: Always good to have a second opinion on hand. Finally, Governor, if you could say one thing to the American people tonight, what would it be?

Beshear: Are you satisfied with how things are going right now? We're more divided now than ever before. We have a president who seeks to do everything he can to divide us. If you want a president who knows how to bring people together, there's only one option. If you want a president who shows empathy and cares for Americans no matter their race, gender, ethnicity, economic status, or where they're from, there's only one option. If you want a president who wants to protect your healthcare, there's only one option. If you want a president who's going to hold the wealthy accountable, there's only one option. Thank you for having me tonight, Wolf.

Blitzer: My pleasure, Governor. And that will be all for tonight. Thank you so much for tuning in, and be sure to keep an eye out for more Election Updates as the first Tuesday in November draws closer.

The schedule of President Mike Pence - July 17th to August 16th

President Mike Pence is focused on making sure that he is seen as presidential and a competent leader in charge during this time period, and as such will refrain from holding rallies and making political statements as they will likely be overshadowed by Kirsten Gillibrand preparing to be coronated in Milwaukee anyway. However, he will make a few appearances, together with high-profile surrogates across the Rustbelt, with Wisconsin, Michigan and Pennsylvania being a focus point. He will attend both town halls in small manufacturing cities and rallies in the big cities, hoping to personally convince as many people as possible to vote for the Republican ticket in this November. Aside from that, he will hold as many press briefings as possible from the White House or the Rose Garden, touting the accomplishments and plans of the Administration on random policy issues. He will also give interviews to Fox News and to less friendly news channels, hoping to reach out to as many swing voters as possible.

Behind the scenes, his campaign will focus on keeping strong and expand the ground operations in the swing states, especially Wisconsin, Michigan and Pennsylvania, as well as making sure the RNC and outside support organizations are prepared for the fight ahead. President Pence and his aides will also make a priority out of smashing dissent within the Republican Party, hoping to convince as many skeptical members as possible to endorse the President both through sugar or through whip, depending on the case.

RNC 2020 - Preparation

President Mike Pence had long thought that Charlotte is not the best place to host the 2020 Republican National Convention, and as such convinced the RNC to hold it in Pittsburgh, the former Steel City and a place where the constituency targeted by Mike Pence - white working class voters, live. His VP pick will be announced on August 22nd, 2 days before the Conventions, however schedules have already been made as well as the unofficial themes of the days and they look like this -

Day 1 - The Legacy of Donald Trump

While President Donald Trump and his relationship with Mike Pence will be brought up throughout the Convention, this day will be especially focused on that. Participants will get to watch videos presenting the accomplishments of the Donald Trump Administration, how he put his trust in Mike Pence and what a great working relationship delivering results for the people they had. The speeches, aside from the classical stump speech, will also get a flavor of Trumpism and they will mainly be given by officials elected in 2018 (so no anti-Trump statements from their past can be found by the Democrats) such as Ron DeSantis, Josh Hawley, Mike DeWine, Martha McSally, Brian Kemp and others. Speeches will also be made by Trump Administration officials, as well as Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump. However, the main speeches of the night will be 2. The first one will be made by Ivanka Trump, who will announce her endorsement for Pence after a short-lived primary challenge, and the advisors have high hopes of her being able to bring enthusiasm both to moderates and to Trumpists, and the second will be made by Donald Trump himself, who will hold his first (brief) public remarks since his stroke. The campaign thinks that this will be the spotlight of the night.

Day 2 - The Trump Coalition

While the first day was all about Donald Trump, the second one will be all about the way he won the 2016 elections. The campaign is decided to win votes from both the staunch conservatives and the white working class (as Trump did), and this day will appeal to those 2 categories, both of which seem rather reluctant towards Mike Pence. The speakers will be staunch conservatives, such as Freedom Caucus members and many of the Senators who defected with Mitch McConnell (through not McConnell himself), Rustbelt politicians such as Joni Ernst, Kim Reynolds, Scott Walker, Pat Toomey and many simple manufacturing workers or union leaders who will talk about how the Republican administrations (especially the Pence one) helped them and their families. The Trumpist view on trade will be promoted during this day as well as a rather rightist view on social issues. The keynote speech will be given by Vice President Reed.

Day 3 - The Moderates

The third day of the RNC will be focused on winning over the moderates and minority voters. While Mike Pence had gone a long way into ensuring their support with his legislative accomplishments, the campaign still feels that more can be done in order to get as many of them to vote for the Republicans in November. A central theme of the day will be to promote the strong economy and the prosperity it created in the country, as well as the Mike Pence-promoted legislation which is thought to have produced a clear, positive effect in the life of every American citizen. However, that will likely not be enough, so another theme will be #newGOP. This re-branding is in many ways a new version of the compassionate conservatism of the Bushes and it seeks to change the way Republicans are perceived by many from the party of bigotry, tax cuts for the rich and taking insurance away from millions to the party of common sense solutions to fix the problems of America which fights against the real radicals - the liberal and socialists Democrats. All moderate Representatives, Senators and Governors will speak on this day as well as most minority Republican officials. The keynote speech will be given by the VP candidate who is going to be announced soon.

Day 4 - Mike Pence

In the final day of the RNC, the focus will be on President Mike Pence. Videos of his family, his youth, his accomplishments as Governor and President will be up a lot during this day, and the speeches will be made by people who had a chance to work with him personally. There will also be a lot of establishment Republicans speaking, hoping they will manage to unite the moderates, mainstream conservatives and extremist conservatives, together with white working class voters in a coalition to re-elect Mike Pence. The President will hold his acceptance speech, however it will be a little different, as it will be held right after the roll call vote to nominate him, hoping it will create a high-lighted moment by the media.

Election Update 2020
with your hosts, Tucker Carlson and Mark Levin

Carlson: Good evening. I'm Tucker Carlson, here with President Mike Pence. Mr. President, how are you this evening?

Pence: Good, Tucker. Happy to be here. How are you?

Carlson: I'm good, as well, Mr. President. Now, to business: many sources have suggested that you intend to replace Vice President Reed at the bottom of the ticket. Are these claims founded, and, if so, who are you considering?

Pence: Well, Ralph has had a good run as Vice President, and I am sure that the entire nation is and will be eternally grateful for his service, however he and I both agreed that it was best for him not to run with me. There were a lot of his own personal reasons involved, as well as I thought America needs a fresh vision and with that, a fresh face. However, I can assure you that this is not the last you see of Ralph, as he will continue to promote common-sense values and policies and I will continue to support him in whatever his future holds. As for his replacement, I can not reveal who she is, but she is a woman, a very strong, patriotic and competent woman, and I believe that my pick will show that I am serious about bringing real change to the country. We have had a terrific, absolutely terrific conversation about our goals in the next term a few days ago, and she has convinced me that she will be a great Vice President and we will accomplish great things together.

Carlson: The first female vice president, at long last. Now, several members of the NRCC and NRSC have expressed pleasure at Senator Gillibrand’s nomination, as they believe her more strongly progressive views mean they could win back moderates who defected to the Democrats in 2018. Would you say that this is an accurate assessment, and do you plan to campaign for any downballot candidates in the hopes of boosting this possibility?

Pence: Well, first of all, we should remember that Senator Gillibrand is not really a progressive. In fact she has no ideology or values, she only sees opportunities. She was a big fan of the NRA when she was a Representative, she had an A. She supported an amendment with Steve King to water down gun control regulations. As soon as she became a Senator, she realized that the NYC liberals were not going to re-elect her with that record so she did a full 180 and one year later, the A turned into F. However, I do believe that the Democratic Party has become a socialist party, and that the nomination of an, albeit fake, socialist politician shows that. There is no place for moderates there. The American people realize this, which is why they will send to Congress our great, great Republican candidates. I will do everything in my power to turn the House around this electoral cycle, including campaigning with down ballot candidates.

Carlson: A reassuring sign to a party eager to hold the Senate and retake the House. Now, many pundits have noted the seeming animus against candidates over the age of 65 this cycle, as many prominent older candidates for Senate and Governor went down to defeat in their respective primaries, including incumbent Senators Jim Risch and Ed Markey. Do you believe this is a sign that the American people want generational change, and, if so, how would you give it to them?

Pence: First of all, let me say that if I had to define my Presidency in one word, that would be change. We have changed more in one year than other presidents changed in 8. And it was not just on-paper change, it was actual change. You can ask all the mothers who now having childcare and paid family leave, all the workers having their taxes cut, all the communities having their infrastructure rebuilt and so much more. I have no intention of changing the course during my next term. In fact, I want to bring structural change, including generational. I have taken the first steps, by reforming the GOP, giving it a fresh voice, as well as by my Vice Presidential pick. However, I recognize that this is not enough for the American people, and as such I promise for all members of my new Cabinet to be under 50 years old, as well as all my high ranking officials. I hope this will trigger generational change within all agencies. I will also look carefully at age when nominating Justices, with under 65 being the likely standard.

Carlson: A strong statement in favor of generational change from the President. Finally, Mr. President, if you could say one thing to the American people tonight, what would it be?

Pence: My fellow Americans, we have a very important choice to make this November, because this election is the most crucial in recent history. Do we want to go forward, on a path to change and prosperity for all, or do we want to vote for a radical party filled with corruption? I have showed during my years in public service, as Representative, Governor, Vice President and President that I deliver for you, for your family for your community. The choice is in your hands.

Carlson: Governor Pence, thank you so much for being on.

Pence: My pleasure, Tucker.

Carlson: And that will be all for tonight. Thank you so much for tuning in, and be sure to keep an eye out for more Election Updates as the first Tuesday in November draws closer.

Mike Pence ad - Who is with you? - airing in Wisconsin, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Florida, North Carolina and Arizona

Narrator - The Democrats have long claimed to be the party of the working men. But actions speak louder than words. So let us hear the facts speak -

The Democratic Party has voted against legislation proposed by my Administration to cut your taxes, rebuild your infrastructure, fight the opioid crisis, lower the cost of prescription drugs, offer school choice to the poorest among us, providing affordable childcare and paid family leave. All this time, they told you lies about this projects, about how they were going to doom the nation, but you know the truth. You know because you and your community are benefiting of them, because they made your life better.

On top of that, they nominated a flip flopper, a heartless opportunist. Senator Kirsten Gillibrand, turned overnight from the poster girl of the NRA to a proud socialist. She would allow people like Alexandria Ocasio Cortez to make the laws of the nation as long as it suited her interests. She can not be trusted.

On November 3rd, ask yourself - who is really with you?

Mike Pence - I am Mike Pence, I approve this message, and vote for your childrens future on November 3rd.

The speech of President Mike Pence announcing his VP pick

Good afternoon, my fellow Americans. Today, I am proud to announce the person whom I hope to be my partner in governing for the next four years. It was not an easy choice, however, she was from the start an outstanding candidate with whom I can think we can accomplish great things together. She is a patriot, a competent diplomat who had exceptional results in all of her public offices, a fierce public servant who is liked and loved by the American people. So, please welcome the soon-to-be first woman Vice President in the history of the United States, Ambassador Nikki Haley!

The summarized acceptance speech of Mike Pence - RNC, Pittsburgh, 27th August 2020

My fellow Republicans, my fellow Americans, I humbly and gratefully accept your nomination for the Presidency of the United States.

Today, I urge you to look back to July 2016, when our party reunited in Cleveland to nominate President Donald Trump and myself to win back the White House. Then, our country was a shadow of its former self, terrorism and ISIS were on the rise, Russia and China were looming over us, the economy was stagnant, jobs were leaving to Mexico, thousands upon thousands of illegal immigrants were entering our country every day.

Now, I believe all American citizens, both in this room and watching us from home, can answer the famous - Are you better off than you were 4 years ago? - with a confident Yes. Our economy is stronger, more jobs are added each and every month, our taxes are the lowest they have been since Ronald Reagan, the opioid crisis is being defeated as we speak, childcare is affordable and mothers have paid family leave, our infrastructure is being rebuilt, our law enforcement is doing its job, illegals are deported instead of protected, terrorism is being contained, the threats of ISIS and North Korea are no more. America is at its strongest, most prosperous, most powerful in decades. However, we can not stop here and we will not stop here. Because for us, Making America Great Again is not just an interesting catchphrase, it is the goal towards which we dedicate our energy and passion every day.

Well, that is not what we can say about our opponents. They are partisan hackers at best, malevolent fighters against America at worst. For as long as they have bragged about being the party of the people, they have voted against every single piece of legislation drafted by us for the good of the people. They have nominated an empty suit, an opportunist changing ideologies as if they were socks. What Representative Gillibrand fought for, became what Senator Gillibrand fanatically fought against. And what Senator Gillibrand fought for, Presidential candidate Gillibrand dismissed as if it were the work of the devil. She has no principles, no coherent vision, and would gladly implement socialism in the United States of America. We can not allow it.

Today, we stand at crossroads in the history of our nation. Do we want to continue on this path to prosperity, to Make America Great Again, or do we want to go back into the past, to let Cowardice Win? I hope that you will make the right choice.

Thank you, God Bless you and God Bless the United States of America!

PHASE IV, TURN II: SEPTEMBER 2020

As the RNC concludes in Pittsburgh, the general election has finally arrived. With Senator Gillibrand and Governor Beshear ready to face off against President Pence and former Ambassador Haley, with Mr. Austin Petersen also in the mix with a hearty percentage for a Libertarian. Currently, the battleground map is still in its infancy, with all three candidates having plenty of time to go at it. That said, it's off to the races!

Current Polling (8-11 September 2020)

President Mike Pence - 46%
Senator Kirsten Gillibrand - 41%
Mr. Austin Petersen - 7%
Other/Undecided - 6%

Note: ratings do not factor in Pence's convention bump, as most pundits agree that will fade by November.

Non-Tossup Electoral Votes
Senator Kirsten Gillibrand/Governor Andy Beshear - 236
President Mike Pence/Fmr. Ambassador Nikki Haley - 234
Mr. Austin Petersen/? - 0

Election Update 2020
with your hosts, Tucker Carlson and Mark Levin

Carlson: Good evening. I'm Tucker Carlson, here with former UN Ambassador and Republican vice presidential nominee Nikki Haley. Ambassador Haley, how are you this evening?

Haley: Good, Tucker. Happy to be here. How are you?

Carlson: I'm good, as well, Ambassador. Now, to business: if elected, you would be the first female Vice President in American history. Do you believe this flies in the face of the Democratic Party’s claims to be the “party of women,” and why or why not?

Haley: The concept of there being an "anti-women" and "pro-women" party is archaic. I do believe however, that the Democrats like to assume a monopoly on women, and it's our duty as Republican women to break that status quo. The real difference between the parties is that one works for average folks, and the other works for the elite. Looking at the actions by each side over the past four years, you can probably tell which is which.

Carlson: No such thing as a "party of women," after all, it would seem. Now, many conservatives have voiced concerns about the President’s more moderate policies, particularly those that involved increases in spending. How do you intend to bring these people back into line?

Haley: We live in a new time and circumstances are different, I think everyone knows that. As the economics, demographics, and situation of our country evolves, so does our party. We can't be working in 2020, solving 2010's problems. The President has done a great job with his previous policies and how he is implementing them, and as a proud supporter of capitalism and right wing economics, I couldn't be happier running with him on this historic journey.

Carlson: A sign of the changing times, no doubt. Now, you and the President have already worked together under former President Trump. Do you believe this could help you in working together in future?

Haley: Of course. The President and I have a great working relationship that goes back years. We worked together and got things done in the governor's association, and in the Trump administration, and I'm looking forward to working directly with him in 2021 and onward as vice president.

Carlson: No strained relations in the Executive Branch here. Finally, Ambassador, if you could say one thing to the American people tonight, what would it be?

Haley: Help is on the way. There are many powerful forces affecting this country right now, but the strongest is hope. We can not let this election process bring out demons in us. We must remain united as a country, because we only get things done, united.

Carlson: Ambassador Haley, thank you so much for being on.

Haley: My pleasure, Tucker.

Carlson: And that will be all for tonight. Thank you so much for tuning in, and be sure to keep an eye out for more Election Updates as the first Tuesday in November draws closer.

Rally in support of President Pence and the newly founded Working Class Democrats for Pence Committee - 1st October, Kenosha, Wi

Attended by President Mike Pence and the Rustbelt officials who endorsed him this week, the rally in Kenosha, Wisconsin, announced the endorsement of the said officials for the Republican ticket as well as the creation of an organization named Working Class Democrats for Pence, chaired by the politicians who attended. The new organization will have the mission of showing the working people of the Industrial Midwest which party has their interests in mind and which is just using them for electoral purposes.

The Democratic officials all shared their reason for which they defected from their party in favor of the President, which was the revival of the Midwest during the Trump and Pence Presidencies and the legislative accomplishments of the Pence Administration for the working people of the states, as opposed to the Democrats voting against their welfare for partisan reasons and getting out of touch with them, fighting cultural wars and promoting radical policies to please the coastal socialists and their donors. A big reason for their endorsement was also Kirsten Gillibrand, as both her radical proposals and her opportunistic nature scarred them away from her campaign. This will be the primary message of the organization and one the main ones of the Pence campaign in the region until November.

President Mike Pence reiterated their statements and promised the people of the Midwest further reforms in their favor if he is re-elected.

Mike Pence @presidentpence

Have you seen the last reports of campaign finances? It turns out that Tom Steyer or the Chief Swampist, humiliated in the Dem primaries even through he had the most money BY FAR, is now the BIGGEST DONOR of Flip Flopping Kirsten Gillibrand! I do not even want to think what he asked her to do in return, as I know that she would do anything for donations (as President Trump told us) and she has a history of opportunism, turning from a moderate rightist into a hardline leftist in a week! (Soon to be hardline conservative?)

Mike Pence @presidentpence

Only God knows what immoral and/or illegal deeds has Steyer asked Flip Flopping Kirsten Gillibrand to commit in exchange for his dirty money, however what we know is that if she is elected, the swamp will govern uncontested again only a year after this Administration started to drain it! #SayNoToGillibrand/Steyer2020 #DrainTheSwamp

PHASE IV, TURN III: OCTOBER 2020

As Senator Gillibrand and President Pence begin to go at it in earnest, the race is promising to be reminiscent of 2016, as both candidates struggle to convince the public of their honesty and trustworthiness. This may come at last onto full display as the first presidential and vice presidential debates begin this month. Many officials have, surprisingly, endorsed candidates with wildly differing views from themselves, out of seemingly sheer distaste for their own party's nominee. As October begins, the question arises: not only who will lead America out of this, but how?

Current Polling (1-3 October 2020)

President Mike Pence - 46%
Senator Kirsten Gillibrand - 45%
Mr. Austin Petersen - 4%
Other/Undecided - 5%

Non-Tossup Electoral Votes
President Mike Pence/Fmr. Ambassador Nikki Haley - 259
Senator Kirsten Gillibrand/Governor Andy Beshear - 251

FIRST PRESIDENTIAL DEBATE 2020
(all images are from Wikimedia Commons)

Cooper: Good evening. I'm Anderson Cooper.

Ingraham: And I'm Laura Ingraham. And we're here at the University of Notre Dame in Notre Dame, Indiana, to bring you the first presidential debate of the 2020 election. Candidates will give an opening statement, answer three questions, and give a closing statement. With that said, let's meet our candidates.

(OOC: Preferably 100-500 words for statements and 100-250 words for question answers).

Cooper: And they are:

Cooper: Senator Kirsten Gillibrand from New York...

Ingraham: ...and President Mike Pence from this very state.

Cooper: With that out of the way, let's begin:

To Senator Gillibrand:

Your campaigning in several states has influenced numerous Senate races, including Alabama, Arizona, and Georgia. Do you believe that this refutes the common conception that a progressive has smaller downballot coattails?

The President has made note of numerous donors from your past who do not align with your current views. Why did you take money from these people and organizations, and would you do so now?

What is one thing you respect about your opponent?

To President Pence:

You have accomplished numerous things in your short time as President so far, ranging from combating the opioid crisis to cutting taxes for the working and middle classes. What do you have planned for America if you are elected to a full term in office?

Many believe that, despite your cultivating a more moderate image as President, your constant tweets attacking Senator Gillibrand have sown more division and polarization than any President before you, including Donald Trump and Barack Obama. How do you respond to these claims?

What is one thing you respect about your opponent?

(Statements and answers will be due at the end of the turn; the vice presidential debate will be up on the 22nd and be due the 31st).

Gillibrand Launches Multiple Campaign Programs and Iniatives
Credit to Flickr for the Photo

"Take Back the Senate" Campaign
Apart from winning the Presidential Race, the Gillibrand Campaign has invested millions of its fundraising into holding Key Senate Races, and flipping multiple GOP held seats. The Gillibrand Campaign sent out multiple emails urging people to donate to the campaign, and the donation would be split with the DSCC as well as other individual Senate campaigns. Before clinching the nomination, but after the campaign suspension of Stacey Abrams, Gillibrand met with the DSCC and DCCC Leadership Teams. Gillibrand has placed trust in multiple campaigns across the country, and has made multiple trips to deep red states like Alaska and Alabama, showing her commitment to seeing all parts of the country. Gillibrand put kep figures on the Senaate Takeback Campaign, some notable figures being: Senator Tammy Duckworth, Senator Tim Kaine, Senator Sheldon Whitehouse, and Senator Patty Murray.
Made by myself

"Keep the House" Campaign
With a resounding win for Democrats in the House in 2018, the Gillibrand Campaign and DCCC are committing mass amounts of money and time to keep the House in Democratic hands. Gillibrand endorsed Democratic candidates in multiple swing districts across the country within days of receiving the nomination, and continued to endorse more as the campaign pressed on. The Gillibrand Campaign appointed Representatives Ted Lieu and Mikie Sherrill to head the "Keep the House" Campaign.
Credit to Myself

"Blue Dogs for Kirsten" Campaign
The Gillibrand Campaign hired multiple polling companies over a three month period to see the levels of support among Blue Dog and Conservative Democrats. Seeing large amounts of support, the Gillibrand Campaign sought to garner even more votes from these types of voters. Kirsten Gillibrand made Andy Beshear the VP Pick for a reason, to bring in Blue Dogs, Independents, and Republicans. The campaign appointed Governor Andy Beshear, Representative Stephanie Murphy, and Governor John Bel Edwards to head the Campaign. They invested $10 million in a two month period into organizations and media markets in suburban areas and rural areas.
Credit to Myself

"Middle Americans for Kirsten" Campaign
The Gillibrand Campaign, in cooperation with multiple polling organizations, conducted multiple polls that showed opportunities to receive upwards of 20% of the vote from Moderate Republicans. The Campaign invested over $20 million in a three month period into launching TV, and Social Media ads, polling, literature, and many other things to ensure the support of Moderate Republicans. The campaigned labeled these rhinos as "Middle Americans" because of the commitment to be an inclusive campaign, and to not alienate any voter from California to Maine. The Gillibrand Campaign appointed Governor Ron DeSantis, Representative Brian Fitzpatrick, and Governor Andy Beshear to head the Campaign.

Gillibrand Debate Answers
Credit to Flickr for the Photo

Opening Statement
Quote
I want to thank you Anderson and Laura for allowing myself and President Pence to debate here in the great state of Indiana. Indiana has been home to movements for social and economic history, and so much more. Tonight you, the American People are going to finally have the opportunity to hear from myself and President Pence on the issues. I've released a large amount of plans, from stopping wildfires to providing access to Healthcare for all Americans. In fact, during the Democratic Primaries, one of my slogans was "I've Got a Plan for That." If you're tired of constant uneasiness about America's presence on the international stage, and you want an America in which everyone can thrive instead of just those at the top, join us. If you want an America where your family can feel safe in your home and not have to worry about losing your job, join us. If you believe that everyone has a right to immigrate to this country legally, join us. If you believe that together as a country, we are stronger together than we are divided, join us. I am running for President not because it's easy, but because now more than ever we need a leader that isn't afraid to take an ultimatum to Washington to get things done.

Question One
Quote
Thank you for the question. If we look at our country now, people are losing their jobs, businesses are closing, people are being arrested just based on their race, and we are in constant disarray. This has got to end. We must restore order and unite our country. When I first got elected to Congress, I won in a district where farm animals outnumbered the amount of Democrats. Yet, I won, and I got things done. I worked across party lines to ensure that the vision of America where everyone has the chance to succeed was a priority. Americans want someone who isn't afraid to get their hands dirty to fight for them. I went to Washington to get things done, yet, with this Republican Senate stalling votes on key bills that would actually protect Americans. Progressives have a record of fighting for Americans, from coast to coast. I like to listen to the wise words of President Franklin Delano Roosevelt, "The test of our progress is not whether we add more to the abundance of those who have much; it is whether we provide enough for those who have too little." From Mississippi to Montana, I am ready to work directly with Democrats and Republicans to elect bipartisan leaders that will fight for the values of their states, not for partisan interests.

Question Two
Quote
Thank you for the question. The President has attacked me and my campaign because he believes that we take "dirty money" or that we encourage corporations to donate their money to our campaign. Well, I'm here to tell everyone he is wrong. When the President attacks me on falsehoods, I guess he is forgetting he attempted to undermine our American Democracy during the Democratic Presidential Primary. His campaign was directly associated with a PAC attacking myself in the Democratic Primaries. He attacked our campaign for being the most diverse, progressive, and inclusive campaign in America's history. This is what we're running against. The most dangerous President in the United States is standing here on this stage right now lying to you, the American people. Lying about his donations, lying about his policies, lying about our country. How do you think this makes America look on the international scale? We have to start bringing respect back to our country again, it has been gone for years now and we must bring it back. We have to focus on the issues, which this President has refused to do. As President, I'm going to ensure that every American Citizen has a right to be successful in this country. I don't believe Mr. Pence can commit to that same promise. So, I ask you all today, who do you trust? If you want to build a better future for our children and grandchildren, I ask that you join our campaign and show that Brave will Win.

Question Three
Quote
Thank you for the question. Although myself and the President disagree quite a lot on policy, I do respect how much of a family man he is. Every time I've been to the White House, when President Trump was still in Office, Mr. Pence was with his wife and family. I respect that he puts his family first above politics, and I know if something were to come up in his family's life he would take a leave of absence in a pen drop to protect his family. We may be running against each other, but myself and the President have shared multiple moments together in which we bonded over our love of sports and parks.

Closing Statement
Quote
I'd like to thank Laura and Anderson for moderating tonight, as well as President Pence for joining me here to speak about our plans and policies to lead our country. Tonight, you heard two different visions. One of these visions entailed dividing people, building a wall on the border to keep out families, and keeping the same old Tax System that disproportionately attacks lower and middle class Americans. The other vision you heard entailed, the opportunity to go to College, where the Tax System ensures that the top earners pay their fair shares, and where every person has the right to succeed. Together, we can build the nation of our dreams. “Courage means to keep making forward progress while you still feel afraid.” Joyce Meyer. This quote has always stuck with me, because it has instilled in me that we can't stop. We can't stop while people are dying in our streets because they don't have Healthcare, or when families lose their home because they're working three jobs and still couldn't pay rent. We must never stop striving for better. So, let's push for the America that we've always wanted. I ask that you join our campaign, in the pursuit of love for the country we're going to build. Thank you.

VICE PRESIDENTIAL DEBATE 2020
(all images are from Wikimedia Commons)

Cooper: Good evening. I'm Anderson Cooper.

Ingraham: And I'm Laura Ingraham. And we're here at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City, to bring you the vice presidential debate for the 2020 election. Candidates will give an opening statement, answer three questions, and give a closing statement. With that said, let's meet our candidates.

(OOC: Preferably 100-500 words for statements and 100-250 words for question answers).

Cooper: And they are:

Cooper: Governor Andy Beshear of Kentucky...

Ingraham: ...and former Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley from South Carolina.

Cooper: With that out of the way, let's begin:

To Governor Beshear:

As Governor of Kentucky, you have fought to raise teachers' salaries statewide. Would this expand to a nationwide push if you are elected Vice President?

Some on the left have stated their belief that your moderation and presence on the ticket "diminish the progressive potential of this historic nomination." How do you respond to that?

What is one thing you respect about your opponent?

To Ambassador Haley:

You have often criticized some of former President Trump's ideas, such as a Muslim ban and the premature rekindling of relations with Russia. Do you believe this moderation is a part of why President Pence chose you to be his running mate?

You have a mixed record on your opinion of the Confederate flag. You have, at times, called it a symbol of service and sacrifice and heritage, and yet had it removed following the Charleston church shooting. At this present time, what is your view on the matter?

What is one thing you respect about your opponent?

(Statements and answers will be due the 31st).

- Well, let me also thank you Anderson and Laura, as well as all of the great organizers of this debate and to the American people for watching us tonight. We are here in Notre Dame, Indiana, a place near and dear to my heart, as I had the great honor of representing this community both in the House of Representatives and as their Governor. As I walk down the streets of this great city, I remember what it used to be. It was a place ignored by DC, in which the politicians that it elected only came here for re-election campaigns, it was a place losing hundreds of jobs every month, and people were leaving to work in distant places, it was a place losing hope. And I remember how hard I have tried to fix this. As Governor, I have signed one of the biggest tax cuts in the history of this state, I have increased funding for schools so every kid can have a guaranteed right to quality education, I have restricted abortions made for absurd reasons such as the race or gender of the child. However, only now I see the effects. After four years of the Trump-Pence Administrations, this place is booming again. And the hopeful, hard working community is back. This is the American Revival that we have started all around the country. And I know that there is so much more to be done, to ensure prosperity for everyone, from the farmer in Nebraska to the factory worker in Ohio to the miner in West Virginia. Because the forgotten men and women are forgotten no longer. So I ask you no more than ever to join us in our fight to Make America Great Again once and for all. Thank you.

Question one -
Thank you for the question. Well, I think that it is clear for everyone that my Administration has accomplished more for the working people of this country in one year than others did in eight. However, there is so much more to be done in order to ensure that in America, no American should have to live in poverty or struggle to put food on the table for them and for their children. Which is why one of the first priorities for me will be to enact education reform. Every child in America should attend a functional school of their own choice, and I will pass legislation similar to the Pence-Rhee School Choice and Education Opportunity Act of 2019 to do just that. Another priority for me will be to build the necessary border fencing with Mexico. We should fight against all illegal deeds, and that includes illegal immigration. If they want to come here and build a home in America, they should do so legally, not violating our laws while also taking our jobs. We will also continue deregulating and cutting taxes for businesses, especially the small ones, so that they can produce new jobs and help our economy to continue booming for years to come. I plan on doubling our yearly growth rate so we can lift as many people out of poverty as possible. I will also pass a law implementing a national right to carry, continue rebuilding our military and continue our criminal justice and VA reforms.

Question two -
Well, I disagree. I am using Twitter as a way to directly communicate with the American people and to tell them the truth about this election, because the mainstream media is not interested in reporting the truth. They are, like in 2016, biased towards the Democratic Party and helping it in its effort to manipulate the country into voting against its own interests. And, besides, many DC pundits who have last been to Middle America 30 years ago are claiming that the division and the partisanship are on the rise.  However, when I go to communities all around the country, that is certainly not what I see. I see hard-working, hopeful, united communities who, regardless of political preferences, are there to help and spend time with each other. And they, even as Senator Gillibrand and the mainstream media are desperate to tell them otherwise, recognize the good things that have been done for them during the past 4 years and look forward with hope to a future in which no one will have to struggle to put food on their table.

The third question -
I have always respected the ambition and natural sense of opportunity that Senator Gillibrand has. She has had remarkable electoral victories because of her ability to sense opportunities and act on them, and did whatever it took to get where she is now. I am sure it was not easy, given that, as she always says, won in a district where the number of farm animals outnumbered Democrats, and I respect that deeply.

Closing statement -
Kirsten Gillibrand, with the help of her establishment backers and wealthy donors, is doing anything to produce noise, to distract, to deflect, to prevent you from asking the all-important question of this election. And that is - are you better off than you were 4 years ago? I think the answer is a clear Yes. Despite the loud opposition of Kirsten Gillibrand and the Democratic Party for purely electoral reasons, we have reduced your taxes, started repairing the infrastructure of your community, started fighting the opioid crisis with clear, positive effects, limited lobbying so that Congress can listen to your voice again, offered affordable childcare and paid family leave to every family, limited illegal immigration, deregulated the small businesses of the country, started the fight to repeal Citizens United and so much more. Today, our country is more prosperous than ever before in its recent history, with millions of jobs being added every year. We have to continue down on this path, and I hope that on November 3rd, you will make the right choice for the future of your children. Thank you.

BESHEAR DEBATE ANSWERS
Image from Wikimedia Commons

Opening Statement:
Thank you Anderson and Laura for moderating the debate and I also want to thank the University of Utah for hosting Ambassador Haley and me tonight. In a few weeks, Americans will have the choice of hope and renewal versus fear and more of the same. Tonight, I ask every American watching, are you better off now than you were 4 years ago? Are you not living paycheck-to-paycheck? Are wages higher than they were 4 years ago? Are jobs where they were 4 years ago?  Is America as respected throughout the world as it was? Do you feel that our security is as safe, that we're as strong as we were four years ago? And if you answer all of those questions yes, why then, I think your choice is very obvious as to whom you will vote for. We have a fantastic opportunity right here to finally change America for the better. I don’t know about you, but I’m tired of thinking “Oh Lord, what’s he going to say now?” If you’re tired of the divisiveness, the hatred, the bullying, and the straight-out attacks on the very things that make our nation so great. You have a home with Senator Gillibrand and I.

As Governor of Kentucky, you have fought to raise teachers' salaries statewide. Would this expand to a nationwide push if you are elected Vice President?
Absolutely, Senator Gillibrand and I are the ticket for hardworking teachers. What we’ve done in Kentucky is made lives for teachers easier. Kentucky is a very Republican state, but what I’ve been able to do is work across the aisle to get things done for hardworking Kentuckians. Meanwhile, Ambassador Haley has worked on the side of corporations and big business to try to privatize education and to promote charter schools and school vouchers. Big businesses want to try to trick hardworking Americans into thinking that charter schools and school vouchers are good for them and are better for them financially. That couldn’t be further from the truth. She spent her final years in office making sure that LGBTQ+ South Carolinians couldn’t enter the South Carolina National Guard. While Nikki Haley has spent her career making things in our nation less inclusive, Senator Gillibrand and I are working to further the American ideals of inclusiveness, patriotism, and giving everyone a fair shot no matter their race, gender, income status, or location.

Some on the left have stated their belief that your moderation and presence on the ticket "diminish the progressive potential of this historic nomination." How do you respond to that?
The Democratic Party has always been the big tent party. Conservative, moderate, liberal, or progressive; everyone has a place in our party. Senator Gillibrand is more of what the media likes to call a “progressive,” while I’m more of a “moderate.” That’s how parties should work. Parties need to have two people at the top of their ticket that truly represent not just their party but the nation as a whole. Our party has always fought for workers, middle-class and poorer Americans, women, minorities, and the LGBTQ+ community. Meanwhile President Pence has fought to give workers less of a voice, make the rich richer, strip women’s right to healthcare, treat minorities and the LGBTQ+ community like another species. I was raised to love thy neighbor like thyself. The President tries to show himself as a biblical man, but his philosophy is to love thy neighbor like thyself if you’re straight and not a minority.

What is one thing you respect about your opponent?
A lot has been said tonight but I truly admire and respect Ambassador Haley’s patriotism and love of her state, South Carolina. I also admire her dedication to her family. I’ve had the opportunity to briefly meet her family, and her kids are smart, well-educated, and kind young people. I also admire the Ambassador’s determination. When she sets her mind to something, she never stops.

Closing Statement:
These last few months of the campaign, you’ve heard President Pence consistently attacking Senator Gillibrand. At the end of the day, look carefully at what he’s said. And soon you’ll see that what he’s saying about Kirsten is what is true about him. He calls her the establishment, meanwhile, the establishment bosses of the GOP were lobbying then-candidate Trump to select then-Governor Pence so that they could have one of their own in the White House if he won. Yes, the President has reduced taxes but not for real America. He’s lowered taxes for his rich friends. He loves painting Kirsten as an establishment flip-flopper. Within his first year as Vice President, The Washington Post published an article saying that there was more lobbyists and representatives of big businesses than Joe Biden and Dick Cheney’s Vice Presidential offices combined. He’s started to fix childcare but on his radio show years ago, he said that women should be homemakers, that they belong in the kitchen, cooking meals for their children and husbands. Mr. President, stop the lying, stop the noise, and stop the attacks. The American people are sick and tired of this. When Kirsten and I are elected, your blood won’t boil when the President speaks. We’ll be respected on the world stage. The economy will give a fair shot to poor and middle-class Americans. There are just a few weeks left of this campaign. Vote your conscience, vote how your parents raised you. Vote for competence, capability, and change. Thank you.
