Tom Steyer Radio Ad Airing High Intensity in New Hampshire

Kirsten Gillibrand is using her dark money Super PAC to lie about Tom Steyer and mislead voters on his record. It's time to stop the lies.

Tom's record?
He's signed the giving pledge, pledging to give away his money to charity to help the poor
He's spent his money to fight climate change, save our environment, and provide quality healthcare to every American
Now he's running for President to root out the corruption in Washington and get results for you and your family
Quality jobs for all, protecting Medicare and Social Security, end dark money corrupting politics, taxing the rich, and cleaning up Washington
That's the Steyer plan, not the Super PAC noise. Vote for Tom on February 11th.

I'm Tom Steyer and I approve this message

Politico has reported from an unknown source in the Steyer campaign that their numbers point to a substantial rise in Steve Bullock support at the expense of Kirsten Gillibrand, and have reported the following two statistics.

Steve Bullock - 21% (+8)
Kirsten Gillibrand - 19% (-4)

The rest is unclear

Abrams Campaign Strategy
Image from Wikimedia Commons

The Abrams campaign, after finishing as runner-up to Senator Kirsten Gillibrand in Iowa as well as dismal numbers in New Hampshire, has decided to employ the Biden Strategy.

While former Vice President Joe Biden has endorsed Senator Gillibrand, the Abrams campaign is naming their strategy after him because of the way he’s performed and strategized in the real-life 2020 election.

As soon as all of the votes are counted in New Hampshire, Ms. Abrams will spend a couple of days in Nevada but immediately go back to South Carolina to ensure a sweeping victory.

Ms. Abrams hopes to get a 3rd place finish in Nevada, however, her performance in Nevada will not dictate the strategy going forward. A strong finish in South Carolina, and hoping that one or two candidates suspend their campaigns, will lead to a good finish in Super Tuesday.

Going on to Super Tuesday, Ms. Abrams will focus on Alabama, Arkansas, California, Minnesota, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Texas, and Virginia. She hopes to have a strong base in the South, sweeping all of those primaries, as well as expanding her base to California, Minnesota, Oklahoma, and Texas.

She sees Minnesota as good territory for her campaign because of President Obama’s sweeping victory in 2008, getting over 66% of the vote over then-Senator Hillary Clinton. She also is focusing on Texas because of their 228 delegates. She’s hoping to get a 2nd place finish in California, knowing that Mr. Steyer will do well there because he resides there. In Oklahoma, she’s hoping a strong performance in Texas will bleed over into Oklahoma, targeting white non-college educated voters.

After Nevada, South Carolina, and all of the Super Tuesday states vote, Ms. Abrams will reassess her campaign to see where to go next.

Election Results 2020
with your hosts, Wolf Blitzer and John King

Blitzer: Good evening. I'm Wolf Blitzer.

King: And I'm John King. And we're here to bring you the results of the New Hampshire Democratic primaries.

Blitzer: Indeed we are, John. We are now getting in the first results from the state, and there's a big surprise heading into tonight.

Blitzer: In a shocking twist, Governor Steve Bullock, who finished without even garnering delegates in Iowa, is currently in the lead in the precincts we have in. Most of them rural precincts where Bullock's moderate message was expected to do better, but still significantly higher than expected.

King: Indeed, Wolf, and this is of significant concern to the Steyer campaign, who just recently trumpeted a poll released by Politico that showed them well ahead in the Granite State. Noting, however, that this is 1% of the vote, and not necessarily indicative of how the night will play out.

Blitzer: Still, definitely a trend to watch to see if it continues as the night rages on. We will be back with more results after the break.

Election Results 2020
with your hosts, Wolf Blitzer and John King

Blitzer: Good evening. I'm Wolf Blitzer.

King: And I'm John King. And we're back to bring you more of the results of the New Hampshire Democratic primaries.

Blitzer: Indeed we are, John. We are now getting in significant results from mid-sized towns in the center and southeast of the state, and, as a result, Governor Bullock's lead has shrunk significantly.

Blitzer: Governor Bullock now effectively tied with Mr. Steyer for the lead in this state as Steyer runs it up in the more urban areas of the southeast while Bullock holds his own in the more rural areas elsewhere in the state.

King: Indeed, Wolf, and this is a significant relief to the Steyer people after those disastrous early returns, with Steyer's campaign manager tweeting out, "We're seeing now that Tom will turn this around, that he will win New Hampshire, and that he will continue in his quest to bring much-needed change to America. #Tom2020"

Blitzer: Still, definitely a trend to watch to see if it continues as the night rages on, or if Governor Bullock can regain his earlier lead. We will be back with more results after the break.

King: Indeed, Wolf, and this is a significant relief to the Steyer people after those disastrous early returns, with Steyer's campaign manager voicing her relief on Twitter, as we discussed earlier.

Blitzer: Governor Bullock now eight points behind Tom Steyer, who has won his first contest tonight. As more votes come in, the question becomes, how big will Steyer's win be?

Blitzer: Good evening. I'm Wolf Blitzer.

King: And I'm John King. And we're back to bring you the last of the results of the New Hampshire Democratic primaries.

Blitzer: Indeed we are, John. And here they are.

Blitzer: Mr. Steyer winning the New Hampshire primary by eleven points despite a disappointing start for him, most suspect because of his seeming weakness among rural voters in the state, where there were some precincts in which he ran behind both Bullock and Senator Kirsten Gillibrand, about whom we have said little all night.

Blitzer: Governor Bullock, however, winning his first six delegates in this race, edging out both Gillibrand and Stacey Abrams for a solid second place.

King: Indeed, Wolf, but this leaves him a distant fourth in the overall delegate count. Bullock has also put significant effort into the Nevada caucuses next week, however, so it will be interesting to see what happens there.

Blitzer: Still, definitely a trend to watch even as Steyer has been declared the winner here in New Hampshire. Thank you so much for tuning in, and we will see you come Nevada.

PHASE III, TURN II: HEADING WEST

With Tom Steyer managing to blunt Senator Gillibrand's momentum in New Hampshire, the field turns its attentions to the first state with a high minority population: Nevada. Bearer of a significant percentage of Latino voters, this will prove a litmus test for all the candidates: can you appeal to nonwhites, and thereby turn them out in a general election. As things stand, Senator Gillibrand is running ahead of the pack, flush with endorsements from more than half a dozen local politicians and organizations, but Governor Bullock believes he can surprise again here after his breakout showing in New Hampshire. Ms. Abrams sees her chance to snatch a solid finish before going on to a planned romp in South Carolina, while Mr. Steyer is in possession of the momentum coming into the week. Only time will tell which comes to be most important.

Current Polling (12-14 February 2020)

Democrats
Kirsten Gillibrand - 33%
Tom Steyer - 27%
Stacey Abrams - 26%
Steve Bullock - 11%
Undecided - 3%

Republicans
Mike Pence - 86%

Other/Undecided - 14%

Libertarians
Austin Petersen - 92%
Other/Undecided - 8%

Schedules for February 12th through 22nd will be due March 14. There will be no debate this turn.

President Pence to build outreach in the 12th-22nd February period

President Mike Pence and his campaign think that it is crucial to build outreach with unfavorable groups for a Republican candidate such as Latinos, African Americans, women, working class voters and even registered Democrats even before a nominee emerges on the Democratic side, which is why coalitions of important members of this groups supporting Pence were established, marketing strategies were decided upon and the President himself will hold town halls with this groups. The President will try to convince women, latinos and African Americans that 4 more years of his Administration will mean economical prosperity, as well as better healthcare policies, more safety on the streets, more educational opportunity and freedom from big government policies and regulations. Another strategy used is to remind the moderate Democrats and minorities about the shift to the far left of the Democratic Party, using AOC and Bernie Sanders as examples especially in comparison with the relative moderation of the GOP this electoral cycle. Pence also will appeal to the working class, especially from the critical states of Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin, many of whom voted for Trump and Pence in 2016, by boasting about the very strong economy, the new manufacturing jobs and the new direction in trade. This actions will continue until the general election, with this weeks merely being the beginning of them.

OOC (but very important): What's the status of coronavirus in this timeline? This could definitely affect campaigns after Super Tuesday, specifically the Washington primary and campaign rallies.

Significantly weaker than IRL; mostly contained to East Asia, with only a double-digit number of cases in the US before petering out.

Bullock Campaign Schedule and Strategy
Nevada and Onward

Strategy
As Nevada approaches, the Bullock campaign is making preparations both to maximize performance in the Silver State and to build Super Tuesday infrastructure from scratch. As it stands, the Bullock campaign believes their best chances at victory are in the western and northern states - specifically, Utah and Colorado (where Bullock has a regional advantage), Minnesota (lots of suburban and rural areas), and Vermont and Maine (rural neighbors to New Hampshire). While Bullock himself and most campaign staff rush to secure a solid finish in Nevada, the remainder of his staff as-of-yet unnamed surrogates will begin building campaign infrastructure in the above five states (the Iowa surrogates will help in Minnesota, and the New Hampshire surrogates in Vermont and Maine). In Nevada, the Bullock campaign will spend most of its time in Reno and the Las Vegas suburbs, where Bullock's message of unity will probably resonate the most. Bullock will also attempt to reach out to Hispanic voters by going door-to-door in numerous Las Vegas locations, meeting with community leaders, and holding a town hall every night.

Previously, Bullock has been reluctant to air TV ads, instead focusing on a solid groundgame - but with Super Tuesday approaching and name recognition low, Bullock's campaign decided to air television ads in their 'target states' of Nevada, Utah, Colorado, Minnesota, Vermont, and Maine (and potentially California, pending Nevada results and internals). In addition to running the 'Pioneers' ad from 2019, the campaign will also run the following ad:

Quote
Bullock Ad: Values
Airing in Nevada, Utah, Colorado, Minnesota, Vermont, and Maine

Source: Creative Commons

Bullock: Today, our nation is the most divided it's been since the civil war, and nowhere are these fractures more visible than Washington, D.C, where the politicians who should be representing us are constantly fighting over petty partisan issues, not working to improve our lives.

Source: Creative Commons

Bullock: And, we have a president who starts wars against members of both parties for little rhyme and reason, and conspires with his lackeys in Congress to wage legislative war against the American people.

Source: Creative Commons

Bullock: But, the American people are better than this - stronger than this. This nation was built upon the values of independence, individualism, but above all - cooperation and unity. While we've wavered from these lofty ideals in the past - and sometimes in the present - everyday Americans have always exemplified the best of these beliefs, and it's time that the President and Congress listened.

Source: Creative Commons

Bullock: I'm running for President to bring everyday American values - which Democrats, Independents, and Republicans all cherish - back to Washington D.C. As Governor of Montana, I passed Medicare expansion and crucial land protections despite Montana's conservative lean. As President, I'll continue to work across the aisle to get things done for the common man. I'm asking for your vote today, because we need your help to bring this vision to the White House. Let's win this fight together!

Bullock: I'm Governor Steve Bullock, and I approve this message

Schedule

Mike Pence @presidentpence

After getting blown out by the voters in IA, the establishment and swamp of the Do Nothing Democrat Party is back at it! They staged a RIGGED victory for the Democrat Koch in New Hampshire, and probably will not stop until they make him the nominee! I do not know how the other candidates (and their supporters) can stand by this!

President Mike Pence to re-submit healthcare reform proposals

After an earlier effort failed to pass the House, President Pence is committed to solving the issue of healthcare, which is the most important issue for a lot of Americans. As such, he is once again proposing 2 separate reforms he wishes to see implemented -

1. Require price transparency from all healthcare providers, especially doctors and healthcare organization like clinics and hospitals. The goal of this reform is for individuals to be able to shop to find the best prices for procedures, exams and other medical-related procedures.

2. Multiple actions to lower the costs of prescription drugs, including allowing drug importation, outlaw the tactics of the drug companies to extend the life of patent protection, allow Medicare to use its bargaining power to lower drug prices and allow generic products to get in the market easier.

Mike Pence and his Administration indicated that this is just the start of a broad healthcare reform that will be proposed in the following months.

Tom Steyer TV Ad: Crush Corruption

Aired High Intensity in ST States, Nevada, and South Carolina

(Cash photo in front of DC)

Washington is corrupted by dark money and special interests. They won't serve you because they are already serving them.... (cuts to Goldman Sachs headquarters in black and white)

(Black and White Gillibrand photo)

Kirsten Gillibrand can't fight corruption. She has benefitted from Washington's broken system. 100% rating from the NRA, and a Super PAC to broadcast lies on Tom Steyer.

(Cut to Color Tom Steyer speaking camera)

I believe in telling the truth, so I'm telling you that I have serious questions on Senator Gillibrand's ability to beat Washington corruption. No Super PACs, no dark money, just me saying what I believe. We need a Washington outsider to crush corruption and get results for you. As President I'll beat Washington dysfunction and get results for you and your family. Not the monied interests, we can have a constitutional republic of the people or an oligarchy of the few. I'm for the people, and for taking back our democracy. I'm Tom Steyer and I approve this message because it is time to crush corruption.

Pence Administration to engage in brand new tax reform effort during spring

Even with the 2020 elections rapidly approaching, President Pence and his Administration still want to have more accomplishments going into November. As such, it seems like the experts of the White House are preparing another effort on taxes. Sources say it is a tax reform, which will be more or less deficit-neutral, rather than another massive tax cut, like the previous 2 bills. Its goal will be to make the tax code simpler, eliminate both unnecessary taxes and deductions as well as making it easier for people to save money, a center point of the prepared legislation.
